Retrofitting folding side mirrors

Post by Alvin1001 »

Hi guys, I own a Vento that does not come standard with side folding mirrors .
Thinking of retrofitting into my car, has anybody done it before?
I have bought the new mirror with folding (8 pins) and the new folding switch .
My door module part number is 6R0 959 802 AL ( driver side), 6R0 959 801 AH (passenger side).

So far I have connected a wire to my folding switch(pin8) to WRM (pin 12) , and the other 2 wires to t16g/14 and t16g/15.

However, nothing happens when I twist the switch. Tried recording my module to 010002, 0100B3, 0100B1 but code rejected.

It's highly likely that the software (SW 5xxx or 5540) of your window regulator motor - door module - doesn't support the folding mirror function.
What's the model year of your Vento? (letter, tenth digit of the VIN)

I'm afraid your WRMs don't support the mirror fold function.

Read the govindsharma's topic.

I see. So which version of regulator should I get? Any specific PR codes?

Retrofitting folding side mirrors

Post by Alvin1001 »

*Update*
Took the door module from a beetle, plugged into my car, mirror folds without any additional coding.

But the window does not roll all the way up as beetle has a frameless door.

Looks like I'll have to find a door module thats for polo or vento

Byte02 Bit1 enabled, both WRMs.

Redo the comfort function with the window switches, in both doors/windows.

I have changed the coding on both WRM's to enable byte02 and bit1 with no success of folding the mirrors when locking and unlocking ImageImage
