Noise from trunk

Post by claudiohi »

Hi guys
I purchased my Polo TSI (Highline), and I noticed a noise coming from the trunk. I tried to check the spacer, triangle but they all look OK.
Has any colleague had problems with the noise coming from the trunk of the car?

Thanks.

What kind of noise, have you checked in the boot for the spare tyre, jack and stuff. Without specifying it's hard to diagnose.

I would suggest taking everything you can out of the trunk (boot) and see if the noise disappears....

I had this annoying noise too, it`s like something like plastic/rubber scratching right? If it is, that's an easy fix...

Get some of those felts with glue on the other side and put it on the metal frame of the trunk where two little rubber sticks touch when you close the door, a small piece will do. These guys are the responsible for this noise, you just need to put enough felt to avoid the rubber sticks from touching the metal directly.

They use something like that under the bonnet (hood) where the rubber buffers contact the bodywork.
