New Spoiler

Post by Josherswilson »

Evening..

Anyone fitted a WRC spoiler or any spoiler really?

I have a GTI and wanted to fit a WRC spoiler but wanted to know how to do it before taking the plunge

Thanks

Funny enough I'm in the middle of the proces of removing a GTI spoiler and replacing it with a WRC spoiler. :)
It is on my BlueGT which has the same spoiler as the 6R GTI just with the black GT sidepieces on either side of the rear window so here is also pictures of the removal of them.
I just picked the car up from the painter today because the glue is so hard you can't remove it where it is most stuck without tearing of the clearcoat. But furtunatly you can get away with just painting the top of the bootlid. :)
Didn't take any photo's of the freshly painted "boot top". But will do so tomorrow.

(The black pieces above the spoiler in this picture is the mounting adaptor under the spoiler. That is what's held on by the glue. It CANNOT be saved when removing it)

(The new WRC spoiler painted gloss black)

Nice one! Some pics of the final install would be good when you've got it fitted

Was wondering if you bought the side pieces or if you or anyone knows where I could source some? looking to achieve something similar here. Looks class.

Cheers
