Re: My polo 6r bifuel

Post by Franciswat »

Hi ciclo, you do not have to apologize my friend I just worried you were fine.

To cut my long polo's story short as you remember I upgraded the bcm following Pavel's tutorial but It did not work. After that I insulated both T17/6 and T17/7; Pavel's tutorial does not say about it but I read that you told federico to do that ( viewtopic.php?f=56&t=70787) and after this operation bcm worked correctly*. In order to check if my installation is correct you asked me to provide again pictures of my connectors and I posted them in previous post ( viewtopic.php?f=56&t=70398&start=90#p541310).

*a part for one thing  faulty light warning appears every time I insert reverse gear :!:

One week ago my car (parked) had been involved in an accident and some interior component had been damaged (in addition to the bodywork).
Waiting for bureaucratic times to repair It I can provide you the last autoscan done before accident.

Thank you for your understanding and kindness!

My deepest gratitude for your concern towards me. 8)
Now I'm in perfect condition, and now the important thing is you and your 6R.

I regret the accident in which your 6R was involved when parked, hopefully the damage has an easy solution and you can enjoy your 6R as soon as possible.
---

Solution for the warning light when you enter reverse gear:

There are two possible solutions: (chosse one)

1- Install a new 1.0mm2 thickness wire from T73b/12 BCM white connector to the T6/5 right taillight connector, isolate T6/5 original wire.
(only for 6R with manual gearbox, i.e, your 6R)

or

2- New BCM coding: 3CB02BBF08E1060092380E406D2B0CD100C0412F60840000200000020000
(solution + CH/LH activated)

The best and most original is the first one.

---
Explanations about the installation guides.

- Pave's 6R don't have T17/6.
- Pave's 6R is DSG.
- T17/7 it's necessary to isolate it when installing the red connector for automatic lights (other guides, ...it's not your case).
I told you to remove/isolate it to rule out the possible causes of the problems you had previously.
In any case it keeps isolated by the other end (in relay holder) when installing the electric bridge instead of J331 relay.

Glad to hear about it mate, this is the most important thing!

Thank you for your the exhaustive explanations (as always) ciclo!
The best and most original is the first one.
I'll try first solution then but sorry am curious asking you how coding of second solution solves problem. You talk about CH/LH but I think they need extra wirings I miss.

In the end I forgot to tell you about this error which appears under 09. cent elect. since bcm upgrade.

Possible Causes
- Fuse(s) faulty

Possible Solutions
- Check Fuse(s)
- Check Wiring and/or Connector(s) from/to Alarm Horn (H12)

Only Automatic lights need additional wires/relay-s.

Once I have read this thread in its entirety, this fault appeared when you made your first unsuccessful attempt to install the wires for the BCM adaptation ... and battery totally drained.
In previous autoscans, the fault is displayed with the original BCM High (087) re-installed and also with the new BCM Max (090) installed.

If you have a new battery installed try the following:
- Disconnect the battery (-) for a while. Take a beer.
- Connect again.
- Connect the VCDS cable
- Click on Autoscan, click on gateway installation list, wait for the reading, click on clear all DTCs, click on done, wait for results, click on Start... wait the new autoscan, save.
- If the results are positive, take a second beer and smile, if the results are negative, come back here.

I apologize ciclo, I did not remember It appeared even with old bcm.

Battery is not new (It's a 6 years old battery I suppose If previous owner had never changed It - I bought car in 2016); I've just checked battery voltage with engine off and It's 12,8 v.

I tried anyway to do as you suggested (alarm fuse is good) but error did not disappear. Do you think I have to replace the battery?

PS I enabled CH/LH with VCDS but they did not work. I suppose they work only with xenon headlights installed (I have halogen lamps).

Cheers,
Francesco

Could you please clarify 2.8v battery power with engine off. Do you mean 12.8v?

In the previous autoscan it is clear that fuse 44 is fine and I do not think you have to change the battery.
What happened to the warning light when you put reverse gear? (with new BCM coding)

No, it is not related.
If wires installation for the BCM adaptation is correct, they should work with both models of lights.

...continuing my methodology to know the health status of your electrical installation, enter this new BCM coding.

Coming home:
Take out the ignition key from the ignition switch.
Pull from the lever of High Beam to flash once.
Open the driver door.
The lights should turn on.

Leaving Home:
When open the car with the remote control, the lights should turn on.

Please, new Autoscan and inform us. Thanks.

I used the last code you gave me in new BCM, ciclo.
That's the autoscan (some faults are related to the accident because car has not been repaired yet):

About CH/LH I did as you said and I noticed that:

If I enter the last code you gave me  3CB02BBF08E1260092380E406C6B0CD100C0412F60842000200000020000
- CH: low beam lights and parking lights switch off after 15 seconds when I leave the car
- LH: does not work

If I enter the code you gave me to solve rear light bulb error some posts ago  3CB02BBF08E1060092380E406D2B0CD100C0412F60840000200000020000
- CH: fog lights and parking lights switch off after 15 seconds when I leave the car
- LH: does not work
What happened to the warning light when you put reverse gear? (with new BCM coding)
With both BCM codes above I have no more bulb warning light when pull reverse gear.

It's what I assumed. Perfect!
The wiring health status that you manufactured and installed is in good condition.

The tests for CH/LH are correct, and they mean the following: (apart from providing me with the information I needed)

- that you must make a new electric installation for fog lights without BCM control when installing the Bixenon headlights (not in case you install LED headlights).
- the LH function works in conjunction with the light sensor and the light switch in AUTO position, and that is the reason why LH function not works in your car... it is the right thing in your case.

I'm afraid that you will have to buy new batteries for the alarm siren to solve the alarm fault/problem (as indicated in the ross-tech link).
But without a doubt it is much better to buy a new alarm siren, because you have to remove the alarm siren anyway.

1K0951605C e.g. search with google (images) and you'll find ...

I will probably need some help so please have patience with me!

Thank you again!

Does anyone know If it's possible to add on polo 6r the function for which right mirror automatically tilts down when you insert the reverse gear to park (like Golf)?
I don't know the english name of that function but translating from italian is "curb function".

Here's what I mean:

There is the so called 'treble horn' which has the high tone
And there is the so called 'bass horn' which has the low tone.

The lower equipped Polo 6R has only the treble tone (i.e. easyline, trendline) while the higher equipped versions have both the bass and treble horns (i.e. comfortline, highline, GTI, BlueGT, WRC).
They are located behind the left hand side foglight, if you remove it, you'll see it from the top.
