Hi. Could you please help with two unrelated questions?
1. How difficult it is to replace the two inner CV boots\gaiters? Haynes says it (the inner one) requires a hydraulic press, while people around here say it is possible without. Before I order the parts and start working I want to know what I'm going into.
2. While trying to change the timing belt I was unable to remove the alternator belt pulley. The screws are either stuck or worn\stripped (at least they are now). Any ideas on how to take them out and replace?
Thanks

Re: questions about CV and belt pulley
Inners are much easier on a press due to the way they are fitted. Its tough to do it without (I have, but its hours of swearing)
Can you post a pic up? From memory, you shouldnt need to take the alternator pulley off, albeit depends on the engine you have.

Re: questions about CV and belt pulley
Thanks for the info. I have an AEE engine and working with the Haynes manual. According to it, I have the ball and cage drive shafts, not the tripod one.

Just noticed I didn't give any details. It is a 1999 1.6 6N1 AEE Polo
