So it should be possible to do.
You would need new steering with the controls and coding in the bcm and gateaway.
Hi Massimo!
Thanks for clearifying that!
Did you retrofit or was it alredy fitted?
I have some issues with my retrofit, the buttons don't work at all.
My car has cruise control and menu buttons on the stalk, 6C0 953 501 C/6C0 953 513 C
I was hoping to get the buttons working, and then replace the stalks if necessary.
I only checked the "Multifunction Steering Wheel (MFSW) via LIN-Databus 2 active" box, is there something else I need to do with VCDS?
Thanks in advance!

From what has been asked loads of times in various places.

You cannot get the cruise control buttons working on a MFSW on a 6c.

It was possible to get it as a factory option but the only retro fit option is the stalks.

i see in the adaptions there is a section:
Multi_function_steering_wheel_control_module Coding Value:
Steering wheel tiptronic switch:
not installed
Temperature sensor:
not installed
Version:
CCS
development_1:
active
development_2:
not active
MuFu-variant_Skoda:
not installed
MuFu-variant_Seat:
not installed
This is from my coding.
Do you see the mfsw in the gateaway subsystem ... should be
Multi Function Steering Wheel Control Module:
Subsystem 1 - Part No SW: 6C0 959 442 A HW: 6C0 959 442 A
Component: E221__MFL-TAT H06 0023
Coding: 280000
Mine came installed with the car from factory.
Dink could be right about retrofitting the cruise control buttons not worrking.

So I got my steering wheel to work!
Final result!
Final result!
I connected the Pin 3 of the clock spring T16 connector to the BCM T73c/13 Pin. Pin 4 goes to +12V. Don't bother the colors of Pin 3 and 4, the're the old wires from my original harness. Didn't feel like buying a service cable set from VW just to get the new pin connectors so I just took them from the old one. Could be good to mark them for future reference though.
My BCM is a 6C0 937 089 B

I bought a new MFSW harness since the old one doesn't have the connector for the buttons.
The original one was 6C0 971 584 B
The new one is a 6RD 971 584 D, replaces 6C0 971 584 C
To be honest I'm not 100% sure which one I needed, but the one I got didn't work plug and play.

New MFSW airbag harness, replaces 6C0 971 584 C

I had to modify it, because the horn didn't work afterwards. The gray wire occupied the horn-connector and went into the connector at the buttons. The blue/white horn-wire also went into the connector for the buttons.
So I removed the gray and blue/white wires from the button-connector, that didn't affect the function of the buttons, all worked perfectly. Then I cut the gray and blue/white wires and soldered the gray one together with the long blue/white so it could reach it's location in the airbag. Then the horn worked again! So I reduced the wires from the button-connector from 5 to 3, but it didn't affect anything. So that made me think if this is the correct harness, but it doesn't matter as long as it works. REMEMBER THOUGH, NOT TO MODIFY THE AIRBAG WIRES!! Those are the green and black twisted ones, Pin number 5 and 6.

After coding with VCDS everything works fine!
I still have the original steering column with cruise control and menu buttons, and the menu buttons on the stalk works as before. And no lost non-compatible functions on the steering wheel.

WOW, it's a greet job CKarhu. I'm happy for you.
in my case; BCM (6C0 937 087) must be replaced because T73c/13 Pin is absent

I don't know how to replace the BCM with the component protection issue! I hope to find someone who can guide me.

You'll need to go to a VW dealer to get the component protection removed and all the SWAP functions re-activated as far as the BCM and gateway go.

Great Job there... I'm also trying to get this done on mine. Is there any other coding to be done with VCDS than this: "Multifunction Steering Wheel (MFSW) via LIN-Databus 2 active" ?

Hello everybody,

My name is Thomas and I'm from Germany. I would also like to retrofit the multifunction steering wheel with our Polo 6C from 2017. Attached you will find photos of my current steering wheel.

The first registration is July 2017. One of the last models ...

The following has already been retrofitted to our vehicle.

- Cruise control (GRA)
- Automatic light
- Light & Rain sensor
- CH & LH

The multifunction display is also available. My BCM is the 6C0 937 089 D.

For me the problem is that I can not find the right multifunction steering wheel with the right airbag.

The following steering wheel I found on Ebay. Is it the right steering wheel?

https://www.ebay.de/itm/182524646916

The problem here is that the airbag is missing. Can you possibly call me a shop?

The cables for the multifunction buttons are missing, right?

The activation takes place via VCDS. Can you say exactly what I still have to wire? And what releases must be made in VCDS?

I would be glad if you could help me with the project. Maybe there are Germans among you too?

Many thanks for your help!

Greetings from Germany.

Thomas

Perhaps you can use the same airbag just with a different wiring for the airbag.

Hi,

many thanks for your answer. I buy the steering wheel with the right airbag. Do I have to connect more cables, or is the right airbag already enough? See attachments...

Many thanks again. :-)

Best regards, Thomas

You just need these :

-trim for steering wheel 6C0419685B
-multi-switch for multi-function display 6C0959442C
-Airbag wiring 6C0971584A

Update multi-function steering wheel 6C 2014 ->

Fine, looks nice. Thank you.

But the partnumber 6C0959442C for the multi-switch is also with cruise control buttons. I need a multi-switch without cruise control buttons.

How can i remove the old trim for steering wheel and the multi-switch buttons? Is there a manual/Tutorial for this?

If I understand correctly, no cable needs to be put to the control unit (BCM), right? Only the activation via VCDS is needed, right? A good friend helps me with VCDS.

Can you tell me what coding we have to make in VCDS? User "massimo23" shows long coding: 0300084042530A7B4F844000402703C800005B0253010000000000000000. He has the same BCM as me.

Thank you once again for your help. :)
