Mk2 strut insert retaining nut caps thingys

Im replacing the front strut inserts on my mk2 breadvan and the new inserts didnt come with the nuts/caps (not sure what you call them) that hold them into the strut, and the ones Ive removed are in a sorry state, does anyone know what the proper name for these is and where I might be able to get some?

It’s called a castle nut

Your local VW dealer should still be able to order these in
