I have just bought a Mk2 Polo 1986 after having one for may years in the 90's
When cold the gearbox crunches on the down shift from 3rd to 2nd. When hot it is fine and all other gears are smooth. Its a 4+E box and a 1.3 engine.
I plan on changing the gearbox oil to see if it helps but wondered if anyone has any tips such as linkage setup.
We have been made aware that users have been having difficulty signing up, and notification emails haven't been received. This has now been resolved and there should be no problems for anyone going forward. Our apologies - last minute firewall upgrade with a missing rule!

Gearbox oil will probably help. The synchros may be a little worn though

Would think so. Alot of the parts were shared with the Mk2 Golf. If the dealer doesnt do them VW Heritage should stock them
