Strange marks on outside of windscreen
Has anyone noticed a 'mottled' pattern on the outside of the glass as the wipers sweep? Looks a bit like the pattern on a rainbow trout fish - I reckon it's a residue from a polythene cover fitted at the factor to the screen but it won't come off despite trying with Autoglym glass polish etc. I think the quality is a bit poor for the screen and wiper blades to be honest - glass seems to scratch very easily.

Re: Strange marks on outside of windscreen
I've had windscreen judder since day 1 depsite having various wiper blades, screen polishes and the such.
I've also still got the shipping label residue on the inside of the screen when it's misty still visible which I'm also unable to remove.
I can live with that, but the juddery wipers drives me up the wall.

Production of factory installation marks on windscreens are often difficult to remove. On one of my previous cars, under certain conditions you could see four round marks on the screen that were from the rubber suckers on the screen lifting / positioning equipment that’s used on the factory production line to lift the screen into position for fixing to the car. I never did get rid of the marks during 4+ years of ownership.Muldoon wrote: ↑Fri Jun 14, 2019 12:46 pm Has anyone noticed a 'mottled' pattern on the outside of the glass as the wipers sweep? Some people have said that claying the screen can remove these marks.

Get yourself a G3 claymit off Amazon, much easier to use than a bar and you will be amazed with how clean and smooth you get your windows (and paintwork if you use it on it), be careful to keep it well lubricated with soapy water when using.
