Fog/Cornering Lights as DRL

Post by VK70 »

Hello
I have a Vento 1.2TSI DSG (Ind) with BCM 6RU 937 087 M.
Currently the fogs lights seem to be controlled by the BCM as they also work as cornering lights(work with turn indicator and steering)
I tried activating Byte 23 Bit 2 and Bit 6 to enable them to work as DRLs.
However this doesnt seem to be working.

Can someone help me if this is the correct code and more importantly does the above BCM support this feature .I remember reading on one of the threads that it needs the signal from light switch T17/3.

Hi VK,

I believe this will only work after you have installed BCM max.

You indeed need a bcm max. Why not install OEM DRLs in the bumper?

Hello Antardaksh
Thanks for confirming.I thought so,but gave it a try anyway since the BCM was controlling the fogs.

Btw,nice mod on the grill. Is that a wrap or a paint job?

Hello iichel
Thanks for confirming. For the OEM DRLs do I need the BCM max as well or will the existing one work?

I am planning to install the Morimoto Xenons for the low beams ,so currently no plans of upgrading to the OEM bi xenons.

You can make the OEM DRL installation without the bcm max. That's no problem

Number 1 is for non bcm max
I was just about to reply that I found your reponse on this thread viewtopic.php?t=71281#p533894

Will the below wiring kit work?

https://www.carsystems.eu/vw-polo-6c-le ... d2175.html

If not and I need to DIY the wiring , I would need

a.3 JPT terminals
b.2 SPT terminals.
c.For the wire 1.5mm2 is correct?
d.Pin 2 on the DRL connector will be to ground I suppose?

Wire 17/3 to fuse holder 1,5mm2. One jpt one spt
Wire from fuse holder to each light, one spt two jpt
Two GND wires so two jpt and a ground eye or something
