Wow - seems quite high for low profiles

I was after the recomended pressures in the handbook or door shut (if thats where VW sick the sticker  )

Thanks anyway - be interesting to see what others run - I've stuck 30 psi in for the moment but it seems a bit hard I reckon maybe 28psi would be better........

IIRC they were very high, like 2.4 BAR or something daft.

I always remember the look on tyre fitters faces when I read the pressures out from the petrol flap!

Someone with a GTi must be able to check their filler flap for you.

Thanks Josh.....

Ahhhh thats where VW stick the sticker..... 2.4 bar Gulp  Thats 35psi

Oh well - whats the kerbweight of a GTi? I'll have to factor that in too - 30psi looks to much - 25% of the tread area on the new tyres haven't been in contact with the road - still shiney so I thought to hard

I've had my car a year, been runnning alround at 32 psi but my fronts have worn as if they are under inflated so upped mine to 35 psi alround and facing a new tyre bill soon

I checked this out with VW a few months ago when the same topic last came round - they told me 2.1 bar front, 2.3 bar rear :? I run 2.3 all round and check 'em every fortnight or so. Seems fine!

Thanks - Now I've dropped the pressures from what should have been 30 but was actually closer to 36 - the tread is showning signs of conatct with the road almost all the way accross...... Bloody tyre fitters or uncalibrated air lines/guages on their equipment

I'll stick with 30 for the time being and keep an eye on the tread wear

i thought it was 35 front and 32 rear?
thats 2.4 and 2.2 bar

mine seem to have a slight leak too

edit: but then the gti is probably a bit heavier than yours

this is what I run on mine, any lower and the fronts look very underinflated !
