Hi Ciclo,

I have put this coding into BCM just now, many thanks for this, it is like a different van
Fault scan below

Current state of affairs-
Relay fitted, which is supposed to be a direct replacement for genuine VW 646 relay - Bosch 0332201107 - which I think is an 30/10 Amp, this is all I could get today after being messed about by another supplier. It works though.

ALWR wired in, apart from the sensors which are on order. Seems like my suspicions were correct, I think It is either the wrong one or I need to re code it somehow. (It was a gamble anyway). It wont accept the coding for VW t5 if I try to change it.

Left headlamp will be tested tomorrow, I may as well plug the loom in before I fit it to the bumper.

RLS, mirror etc not wired in, the wiring for this will be getting started tomorrow. I have decided to fit the good old W8 light mod which I wish I had planned for before I started but never mind.
It will be another week or so before any of this is sorted, I'm still trying to sort out windscreen and a few other bits.

At least I now have confidence the wiring I have carried out seems to be correct, I have varied it slightly from your standard Plug and play set up as I have started with a messed up/bodged standard loom and no kufatec T10-T14 conversion harness so I was worried I might mess it up. There is no way I could have achieved any of this without yourself and this forum and for that I thank you and everyone else in this topic that has contributed. Especially as I am gatecrashing this forum, and someone else's topic for that matter
I hope to post later with some more info on what I have changed in the loom and put some pictures up etc.
I was messing about with some of the coding before you gave me the bcm code, so I might have to change some more to get rid of some of these fault codes.

Well don't worry, this thread has become the auto lights and related issues thread for the Transporter, .. use it as much as you need it.

That Bosch relay is perfect, and it will perfectly fulfill its mission.

The ALWR control unit must be parameterized for the two leveling sensors for the Transporter.
I'm afraid you have an ALWR unit for 6R and family, which have only one sensor (rear).

Unfortunately I don't have the data set to parameterize your ALWR unit for Transporter, I will look in VCP, but I think this dataset is not available.
It does not matter how many times you try to code it without success until your unit has the correct parameterization or you buy another ALWR unit in which you are completely sure that it comes from a Transporter (Bixenon).

Everything is on track, we will wait for the parts you ordered to arrive, install them, and thus see how your Autoscan improves.

I have another ALWR module on its way, supposedly from a T5, so will give that a try and sell the current one.

I have tested both lights now and everything seems to be good.

I am going through all the redundant wiring to see what is live still.

I have noticed that the old SB5a and SB27a is still live when the headlamps are on.
This seems to be related to E4 dip flash switch.
I have looked at wiring diagrams 183/11 Halogen, 146/11 xenon and Fuse assignment 150/28.

It seems SB5a and SB27a are powered from E4 dip/flash T41/40. Do you think this pin can now be disconnected?

Yes, it is better to isolate the wire that reaches T41/40 or take out the SB5 and SB27 fuses so that the external redundant wires are not live.
With H7, Bixenon or/and Automatic lights the T41/40 wire in E4 has no function.

Thanks, that's what I will do then..perfect.

The Kufatec RLS harness instructions are telling me to wire in the Rain sensor pin3 to BCM T73b/33, however the wiring diagrams are showing to wire this in with the purple/yellow lin circuit that goes to T73b/24. (which I can connect to in various places).

T73b/33 is unpopulated and shows as "not assigned" in my BCM pinout diagram. The Kufatec instructions actually have no guidance on coding so i'm not sure if this pin 33 can be used?

Windscreen and other parts should be here by end of the week.

I noted in other posts here that there may be a need to run a wire between the bcm and reverse signal under the seat,(in order to get the reverse lights to operate or avoid fault codes i think) . I think my van already has this as my reverse lights work and also have no fault codes relating to this so hopefully this will save a bit of time etc.

RLS LIN = T73b/24


Regarding the reversing light, logically all the Van have this wire, but not all have it connected in the same way to the BCM.

- For BCM High the reverse signal reaches T73b/48, in this way the BCM controls only the F4 switch because that same wire is connected to the reverse light, leaving the reverse light without a BCM control of the bulb.

- For BCM Max the reverse signal enters through T73b/48 from F4 and leaves the BCM through T73b/12, in this way the light is controlled by the BCM. (plus F4)

If you do not have diagnostic problems due to the coding that I sent you, it is up to you to decide what you prefer for that bulb.

Ahh, I see what you mean, that makes sense. I was wondering if it was because my electrics perhaps differed because I had Trailer electrics. I will run that wire then so it is also CAN controlled.

I am having a bit of trouble working out what I am supposed to do with the W8 light and the anti dazzle mirror wiring.
I have fitted the W8 light through the original T3 interior light plug as the norm for this modification. It seems to work as it should.
The Kufatec loom I have is not the correct one for some reason. The instructions say pin6 of the mirror is to be connected to pin6 of the interior light. Originally there is no pin 6 in my loom (but now there is in the W8 light) and there is no other plugs in the headlining.

The wiring diagrams 29/3 say to connect pin 6 of the mirror to the red black wire. On the W8 light mod I have the red black wire going into W8 light pin 5.
I cant work out what The W8 light pin 6 does or what I am supposed to do with the mirror wire.

I have crimped (with MQS) the RLS pin3 wire to the alarm interior monitor wire (purple yellow) which ends up at the correct bcm pin t73b/24.

Sorry to keep asking questions, I think i have fried my head looking at wiring diagrams for this part lol.
Next time I attempt something like this, I dont think I will bother with kufatec looms, so far it has cost me time and I have ended up modifying them anyway.

I have the windscreen now so will get that arranged for next week.

You have connected the LIN for RLS in the right place.

Regarding the kufatec wiring, look at the following image, but you must ignore the Adapter I made for a fabia VRS.


You have to connect the individual wire to a 58d signal.
If you look at the auto lights wiring diagram I made for T5 you will find the 58d signal. viewtopic.php?f=56&t=70736&start=45#p528663
Perhaps the best place to take this signal is the coupling.

It is used so that when you use the knurled knob of the dimmer, the intensity of the 2 red lights included in the W8 dome lights is also regulated.

Yes, just now there are no level sensors connected. Still to wire in reverse wire between bcm and green plug.
Other parts like trailer electrics will be plugged back in when seats go back in. ( i will actually plug that in tomorrow to test the fault code goes away)
Roof harness very much still hanging wires waiting to be tidied up when the windscreen is fitted. I had the rls and mirror connected and tested though.

Getting there slowly but surely

When i wired in the new T10 light switch I took a feed from the Original +15 fuse in vw wiring diagrams. This meant i could use the 2 +15(x75) black/yellow T17 wires for the new ignition fed fuses. I used a T2 connector and diverted them behind the bcm to the new fuse location.

I tapped into the 58d feed for pin 1 of W8 light at the dimmer switch as it was easier with the connectors I had left and wiring diameters.

Pin6 for dimming mirror did indeed connect to pin 6 on the w8 light. I dont actually need the mirror to dim at all as i have no back window! All wired in just incase I decide to fit a back window in the future The mirror will be handy to keep an eye on the little one.

I found more lazy installation of cables as i peel back interior panels, some bad routing of reverse camera and bodged stereo wiring etc, takes more time to sort these things out than anything else. Worthwhile job to sort it out though.

Edit* Just checked battery voltage and it is low so going to give it a charge.

So after a charge and a reset of DTC codes the trailer fault in can gateway has gone, hopefully it was just because it had been disconnected and reconnected etc.
The centre brake light fault is corrosion in the plug so a new light and T2 plug has been ordered.
I have still to determine the best route for rear level sensor wiring. Not sure what the OEM route is. Just now I am bringing it up A pillar and along roof to the rear then it will drop down and come out through the wheel arch, hopefully there is enough length in the loom.

Hi guys,
I hope you can help me, I did retrofit Xenon + auto lights to my 2011 Caravelle. I did follow Ciclo’s guide for Graylscott and I am getting some issues. I dont know if they might be related to that I still waiting for a new dimmer switch 6Q0941334 or bad coding. All the wiring is definitely connected as I Ciclo’s giude
Issues:
DRL work when light switch on 0
Only one LED lights up very slightly when light switch on AUTO or main beam position
DRL’s dont work at all on sidelight position
High beam dont stay on, both ways it flashes, no DRL’s as well
Fog lights front + corner lights work
Rear fog works
Number plate light works

Rear lights stay on when I remove key from ignition, unless switch was on 0, then its fine
All buttons ilumination stays on as well
I have to disconnect negative terminal every time and put it back on for them to switch off
