Help needed from Polo owners with climate control

Post by PhilArnold »

Need some help guys, had my car in the dealership to fix my snagging list (small nick in the handbrake leather, slight out of alignment bonnet) and then what I thought was a clearly mis-fitted climate control unit

You can see the centre clips in the middle vs at the edge

They've sorted everything else but apparently had the unit and back in, and it looks exactly the same, confirmed no broken clips etc. They don't know if this is how it should be and indicative to a polo or if mine has a defect. No other cars in the compound with climate control to compare against.

Could anyone with the same unit take me some photos as evidence to see if mine is right or not?

Thanks in advance

I dont have climate but that definitely is not right. Those clips should not be showing. Shame the dealership cant identify this as being OBVIOUSLY wrong.

I'd gladly take a pic but its night time here at the moment. If I remember in the morning I'll take a picture and post it here for you.
Try comparing your image to this in the interim.

Cheers mate, I've just had a look at that, it does look like there is a slightly bigger gap in the centre but not to the extent of mine, wish the lighting was better

It's a bit dark out for decent pictures, but here's mine.

Awesome, thanks for that, looks like you can see the clips through the clear ish plastic because of the flash, but there isn't a gap at the top?

Definitely no gap, and I can't see the clips through the plastic.

On my car there is a slight gap on one side

On this side there is no visible gap and the fitment seems fine

It looks like the plastic trim that runs across the top of the climate controls needs to be pushed into place & I’m guessing the vents need to be popped out to do that.

On my car its not that noticeable, you have to kinda put your head in a lower position to see the difference so I’m not gonna bother with it... However I’ve seen a LHD GTi on instagram that has a much more noticeable gap, it almost looks like they didn’t even put the trim on the top
