Its frustrating that mods can cause such problems with the insurance. Like Mk4_Scotland said, mods equals expensive replacements, although you can compromise by having a policy that replaces your knackered crash-damaged bits with the OE parts that were there before. But thats a bit silly really :P so like-for-like cover is a must if you've spent the last 12+ months wages on your car!

I suppose we pay the price for wanting a more individual look. Although the insurers see a modded car as a liability, isn't it usually the case that the owner of a modded car is more likely to want to look after his or her pride and joy? Especially after spending whatever they can on it! Certainly for me I'm always cleaning it, polishing, finding car park spaces miles away from everyone else and so on. I'm sure I'm not alone in this. Insurance sucks :evil: but driving without it is a crime that should be punishable by death :shock: :lol: jk lol
