New addition to the induction kit.

Post by metz »

I bought some alloy pipes at curborough with the intention of updating the rubber pipe on my induction kit..heres a couple of pics.....

I was thinking of nipping to a fabricators and asking if they could knock a few more up if anyone wants one, and maybe buying some silicone hoses to go with it.
Since adding it...it looks fantastic as apossed to the rubber stuff..sounds loud as hell and i have definatley noticed a bit more torque through the rev range.

This is what you would get (minus the filter) if i can get them made up.

Very nice there bud!

If only insurance wasn't a packet, I could get one of those and be able to afford to declare it. In a year or two... :D

Hm. Could you actually get away with not declaring something like an induction kit? I've not declared anything yet because I don't think I've done anything that warrents it.. but I think an induction kit might be pushing it :?

Apparently, you should declare anything that enhances the car.

So on this logic, should you phone your insurance company and declare every time you clean and wax your car?

"Hello, insurers? Just phoning to inform you that I had my car serviced this morning, it was running a little rough and the service improved the running enormously. Oh yes, and I cleaned it yesterday, and touched up some stone chips last week..."

I damn well hope not ;) Seriously though, should I be declaring every little thing like the foglights etc? Just doesn't seem to warrent it really, if anything they're an added safety feature.. ditto the vented brakes I'm about to fit..

I'd just stick to delaring things like alloy wheels, any engine performance enhancing mods and any prominent styling accessories such as body kits.

You could never declare every little detail that is classified as a 'mod'.

or if u are insured with Liverpool victoria like me, then ANY mods are fine at no extra cost :D (except engine change)

p.s id be insterested in one if they dont cost an arm and a leg

I was hoping to get a price in the region of £25 inc silicone hose. thats just a ballpark figure at the moment though as i haven't visited a fabricators yet.

From when I was speaking to one insurer, I should technically have declared my half coded bumpers.

I thought performance mods had to be declared if they gave you up to an extra 10hp?

It might definately be worth confirming though.
