Ah, you have a relay loom for brighter lights
Basically, you need to connect the red to the + on the battery, brown to the chassis or - on the battery
The existing headlamp plug goes into the male plug, then the female plug goes onto the back of your bulbs
Can you post a pic up of the full new headlamp loom?

So has the current loom plug? to be plugged into the male connector?
If so then the cable is nowhere near long enough.

Big improvement mate!!
Also, I’d disconnect the big coil resistor with the yellow wires by the fuse box. They have a habit of bursting into flames as they overheat
