Hello everyone.
I have a 2001 GTI 5 door in Reflex Silver, which was registered in September 2001 - so probably one of the last few to be produced. It's still going strong(ish) at 133,000 miles - but it's finally come to that time where I need a new exhaust. I think, somehow unbelievably, it's on the original exhaust, as I can't find a receipt for a replacement and the history book from the two previous owners (and me!) is comically extensive.
I've searched the forums (lot of great stuff on here, I used the how-to to replace my brakes, thermostat housing, fan, horns and that plastic pipe that connects the 'stat housing and the water pump a couple of summers ago) and I've found the exhaust parts, but before I order them (from eBay, as it appears to be the only place to get anything apart from getting a custom exhaust made and I don't really want to spend that money) - I just wanted to check the parts would fit.
So for the rear silencer I've got this from eBay:

Alex has assured people (thanks Alex!) many times that the diesel exhaust fits the GTI (I assume because they're both 50mm diameter pipes).
And for the front section I've found some old new stock:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/133421256568 ... 1438.l2649
Again, for the diesel models but 50mm pipe for a Polo 6N2.
Or there's this whole exhaust with hangers and rubbers for the diesels:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/261111239704 ... 1438.l2649
Or confusingly there's also this one for the diesels and GTI:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/261111239704 ... 1438.l2649
But I figured that that old new stock front section would be a better use of my money, even if I have to get the hangers and rubbers separately. Seems pointless to save myself a few quid just to get a lower quality exhaust.
And regarding hangers and sleeves (if I do go for the separate parts rather than that full kit), I assume that as long as they look like these ones they'll be OK:

Thanking you in advance for your help!
