Re: Polo jerky after cambelt replacement

Post by RUM4MO »

One of my big fears about getting the cam belt replaced, though I plan to use a proper VW Group Indie for that job, the cam belt on these engines is not a normal service part, it is now a replace when showing signs of failure, ie it is a long life item and not listed for replacement at a fixed time or miles. Though all VW Group marque service points will tell you that it should be replaced at 5 years etc - doing that keeps them in business!

Edit:- you will need to check over the engine bay to see if any pipes or cables have been damaged or left off as it sounds like the workshop will not help you any more - which is wrong!
