Re: Seat Toledo 1.6 TDI - PQ25 BCM Max + Other Mods
Hi everyone !
Finally I was able to allocate some time to work on the bcm conversion and fix some other things
OMG ! it was a very time consuming process and definitely not for the faint hearted.
. .
Because I am a tall guy the option to remove everything instead of crawling underneath the dash was more viable.
I rerouted most of wires and added some new as needed. it took me 4 evenings after work.
Added some extra things in the process like Front assist radar and High beam assist mirror.
I need to flash the mirror to pq25 and code the radar (maybe remove component protection) - Pending !
I made same coding alterations to bcm but as I am not so familiar with that level of of configuration , I will share it here to get usable info.
I am using a 5GG light switch temporarily because I am unable to find the one that I need , it may raise some issues.
Problem 1 .
dipped beam fails , I thing because I have aftermarket HID lamps and ballasts.
main beam works only when you pull the stalk .
Problem 2
front fog lights does not turn on
no static lights
rear fog lights does not turn on
Problem 3.
DRL switches off on the wrong side when you turn on the turn indicators (wiring or coding related )
.

Hid kit with canbus smart gets rid off the fault on newer cars. Balast like Hylux

Re: Seat Toledo 1.6 TDI - PQ25 BCM Max + Other Mods
Yes, the 5GG light switch is inappropriate.
If it is one of those used on the MQB platform, you will have problems with the fog lights, it use the same pin for both F&R fog lights, and you need a light switch for PQ25 that uses one pin for each fog light.
Don't forget to enable BCM adaptation channels 53 and 54 if you have the 7E0 stalks installed.
According to the installed NON-OEM equipment the BCM coding seems correct for that equipment... it is normal for the diagnostic to complain about the lights.

dont have 7E0 stalks but 6RA, but I think that I have activated the channels anyway.
Updates:
Problem 1
I tested everything at night , but now I found out that even in daylight headlights turn on in auto position.
Also sometimes I get "Light Assist Failed " message on instruments - Is this HBA related or something else ?.
I installed halogen h7 bulbs , errors turn off and dipped beam turns on ok.
Also high beam turns on now with pushing the stalk and stays on even if i set it to 0 position, to turn it off I have to pull it all the way to flashing.
Is it normal ? I thought that I had to push it again and set it back to 0. Auto HBA does not show on instruments.
Problem 2
Have to get an appropriate switch to test fogs.
still no static lights
problem 3
I mixed the L and R wires , I have to switch them.

Yes, everything you explain about the behavior of lights and warning in the IC on HBA is normal.
"You should install the 7E0 stalks"... and fix the mirror issue (install a proper one or flash the current one).
I was never able to find a flash file for HBA-mirrors, so I would be very grateful if you tell me how to get them (by PM).
For the rest, you already describe what you have to do.

about the 7E0 stalks , I do not thing that they physically fit in my car without changing other parts.ciclo wrote: ↑Mon Aug 08, 2022 10:45 am Yes, everything you explain about the behavior of lights and warning in the IC on HBA is normal.

My original 6RA stalks look more like 6C0 stalks on the part that is attached to the steering column.
So do you know if there is a version of 6C0 that will work on pq25 ?
about the mirror, I flashed it with a mqb to pq conversion file that I found on drive2, all the errors about missing communication messages between modules are now gone.
I have not tested it yet though , I will get back when I test that it is functioning correctly.

I have no idea if there are compatible steering combination switch levers for your SETA Toledo .
I guess you should dig deeper to find them or make the appropriate modifications so your levers don't catch on the final stroke.
Impressive report for converting HBA mirrors from MQB to PQ and vice versa. I do not know why some of my best Russian FRIENDS did not know of its existence.

Thank you very much for your diligence in posting the link to facilitate my reading, ... there is no charge for posting links on this forum.
Good luck finding those levers.

I didn't remember the exact link but you found it anyway, so I call it a win ! Thanks for posting.
But still I wasn't able to see the mirror do it's thing.
I solved all the minor issues with the lights and the switch.
Now I am looking for any kind of label file or info on how to code my 5k7 RLHS correctly because it turns on the lights too soon, and I do not know anything about the humidity part too
Also looking for an instruments cluster software file greater than my 711 for my front assist+ acc experiment

Re: Seat Toledo 1.6 TDI - PQ25 BCM Max + Other Mods
a few months now mirror works ok,
I had to physically adjust the headlights, they were replaced in the past but never properly adjusted,
also had to do some adaptation changes regarding activation speed and from that point everything seems to work ok.
I could use the addmap of 7E0 mirror to compare everything with my setup if anyone has it stored.
Also I bought a used golf 5K0 hba stalk hoping to convert my 6RA to non-latching with the correct icons but this was not a match.
Stalks themselves (if you disassemble everything) can be interchanged but you cannot interchange the non-latching part because it is physically different.
. .
As a next step I will try 6C6 or 2Q0 newest style variants that acording to etka are combatible with my slipring and mount, posibly with internals intercange.
It would be also helpfull if bcm / cluster could remember the last status if you switch off/on the car like pq35 cars but I do not know how.
and for valentines' day I got my toledo a set of used 17 inch VW Polo 6C GTI Parabolica 6C0601025K rims

Re: Seat Toledo 1.6 TDI - PQ25 BCM Max + Other Mods
you can use 2Q0 if you want, I had those on my Up! and they are a replacement for 1S0/6RA stalks. 6C0 won't return to center like 7E0
