Polo GTI mk6 face lift battery charging

I've tried a quick SEARCH on the forum, but can't seem to find an answer.

While I know that modern car batteries are a lot better these days.
During the winter months (& it can get pretty cold up here in Scotland), I tend to usually stick my battery on trickle charge once a month if I've not been using it that much (or for loads of short journeys).
Now the battery in my new car (Polo GTI) appears to be hidden in the boot, under the spare wheel. Not easy to get at.

Question... are there any pick up points under the bonnet that allow you to connect a smart charger?

yes there is a big red jump start terminal next to the ECU on the right side (drivers left). you can use that as a plus.
for the minus you can use chassis, engine, engine mount, etc

Just had a look and found what you mentioned. There also appears to be a BIG bolt to the right of it marked -ve.
So looks like that's sorted then.

Can you tell me where did you exactly plug the negative ? I can’t find anything, that’s standing out..

any bare metal on engine or gearbox will do

There should be a big knob like stub in the right side just beneath the parafan of the windscreen.
That's your minus.
