ABS Module coding (long code)

Hello all this is my first post. It's actually in relation to an Ibiza but there isn't a Seat forum with this wealth of posts/knowledge.

I hope someone who is good with VCDS can assist. My son has a 2010 Seat Ibiza and the ABS module packed up. He changed the unit and it of course needs coding in now and he didn't do a scan to get the 18 byte code from the old one. It is maybe possible to plug the old one in with the new one fitted but I have been trying to work out the code anyway. I have got most of it but there are a few bytes I'm not sure on.

For example several of the bytes are like this: HEX 25 + VIN digit + 15 and I haven't got a clue how to work that out.

Is anyone able to assist? Thanks in advance if so.

Yes do you have a diagnostic tool? Vcds obd11 etc?

I have a pal who owns a garage and it will go to him to sort as he is pretty good with VCDS. When I started googling it all I found it quite interesting so I set about trying to work it out myself and I just got stumped with a few of the bytes. I was basically curious to see if what I had worked out so far was in any way right!

Byte 0 - 11 (Ibiza hatch)
Byte 1 - 02 (Ibiza)
Byte 2 - 24 (256mm discs front / 200mm drums rear)
Byte 3 - DB (Ibiza)
Byte 4 - 41 (Manual)
Byte 5 - ? HEX 6D + VIN digit 13 (Digit 13 = 2)
Byte 6 - 00
Byte 7 - ? HEX B2 + VIN digit 14 (Digit 14 = 5)
Byte 8 - 88 (Inverse of Byte 0)
Byte 9 - ? HEX 25 + VIN digit 15 (Digit 15 = 7)
Byte 10 - 24 (Inverse of Byte 2)
Byte 11 - ? HEX E2 + VIN digit 16 (Digit 16 =
Byte 12 - 82 (Inverse of Byte 4)
Byte 13 - ? HEX D1 + VIN digit 17 (Digit 17 = 2)
Byte 14 - 00 (Inverse of Byte 6)
Byte 15 - 40 (BXW engine)
Byte 16 - ? (Not sure how to convert the bit value)
Byte 17 - 00

Just curious to know if what I have done is correct?

Looks like it came from a guide that I wrote myself so must be good. Just make sure you use the correct scheme for your system (ESP8.2/9.0i or ABS8.2/9.0) since you cannot mix and match.

Ah yes that was you as well, it’s superb.

Any chance you could help me to work out the missing values? I can’t figure out how to do the HEX ones plus the VIN number.

I'll need a full vcds autoscan for that. If your garage has a legitimate interface, he's eligible for free support on the Ross Tech forum anyway.

It’s booked in later in the month now. I tried to plug in the old module (with its replacement still fitted) but the cable doesn’t reach so the current module will just have to come off again to get the data from the old one.
