Post by djwoodyuk »

Hi.
Is there anywhere online where I can purchase genuine VW touch up pens?
Looking for one for my 2015 BlueGT.

Thanks in advance

Maybe put it down to bad luck, but I have only once bought a VW touch up pen online and stupidly I did not check or understand the batch date system recorded on the pen. So, when I went to use it a few months later, I could hardly get the brush out of the paint, that was annoying, so I bought a new one locally from VW and then worked out what the numbers/letters on the pen meant - the one that I bought online was maybe 5 years older than my wife's 2015 Polo, so that explained a lot!

I have also bought from maybe M.A.D. online/ebay shop, their paints as some others do as well, come with "gloss" content mixed in with them, are much thinner than the manufacturer's paint pens and so you can more easily wipe off the paint that has gathered on the pen stick - that unless well wiped off, can let you down as you concentrate on the end of the pen when applying paint to the area needing it - only to catch out the corner of your eye, this "other source" delivering its load of paint to where you might not want it. I still get a perfect match with less effort from these "one pen" alternative touch up kits.

I recommend going to dealer for stuff like these, they don't tend to be much more expensive than what you find/see on ebay.
