for one that looks like this

how possible would this be?

for reference my polo is a 2007 1.4 16V petrol with engine code BUD and the steering wheel I want is from a 2006 1.2 with engine code BMD

Both 9N3 wheels, should fit.
Just needs a reset of adres 15 probably after fitting.

bear with me sorry,

so I’m assuming the one locking mechanism on the older wheel will work fine without using the other

but what about the extra cable on the older wheel, is leaving it loose not going to give me any problems?

and what is a reset of adres 15, I’m not too caught up with electronics in cars

the connector is the same

you might get an error light for the airbag, the airbag module is known as module 15, that's the digital address of the airbag module

right, cheers

I don’t have a vag com cable, would a simple “clear fault codes” on my obd scanner get rid of the light in case it pops up?

Probably. If you don't turn the key on while airbag is removed, I think it won't even be necessary

Incase anyone is interested the steering wheel change is super easy and makes the inside look so much better, as long as you disconnect the battery you should have no problems

here’s the before and after

Cheers, and yes I’m currently on a mission to modernise the inside of my polo. I’ll post more pictures in the future once I’m done with it
