Greetings!
I've had some problems with my Polo, the ABS-light seems to randomly come on.
I have not found any pattern, which makes the light come on.
When I checked the contacts with a multimeter I got these numbers;
There is not way to check the sensor at the rear. I got no on-board diagnostic tools at hand.
The ABS-light goes away when I restart the car.
ABS-light comes on and off

Re: ABS-light comes on and off
this could be due to the sensors wearing out. or possibly need a new abs pump/ecu. if you have or know someone with VAGCOM get them plug it in and you can then access the ABS from there and see what codes are showing.

Re: ABS-light comes on and off
This can be due to either a dodgy connector under the rear bench, or the most common issue is the ABS pump contacts breaking inside the control board which can be fixed as per this DIY viewtopic.php?f=10&t=58585

Re: ABS-light comes on and off
Thank you so much for your respons, both of you.
The thing is that I do not know where to find the ABS-pump.
I found the connectors though, one of them very not attached properly, and had a bit bad connection. So I fixed it, but the ABS-light is still on.
The weird thing is that the ABS-light was on, just as I started the car. Which it have never done before, usually I had to drive a bit for it to come on. It was unusually cold today, may that be a reason?

Re: ABS-light comes on and off
The abs pump is underneath where the coolant bottle is in the engine bay

Re: ABS-light comes on and off
I am also facing the same issue. ABS light only comes up after driving few kms. While starting the car there are no errors. VCDS scan shows rear left ABS sensor intermittent signal. But I have tested 3 sets of ABS sensors and also changed the rear Abs ring but still facing the same issue.( Few days back the left rear brake cylinder was changed )
Any help would be really appreciated ?

Re: ABS-light comes on and off
... Hi, here is my car´s version of the ABS light "saga" :
Usually, at mornings it illuminates. I can always put it off by turning the ignition of once, but the car must be moving (the trick doesn´ t work at standing still). the "light off" lasts through entire however long drive and maybe even more, some time. But sooner or later I start it, the ABS comes on again. Brakes ok, pads/shoes , discs , drums ok... Fluid level ok. All CB-s checked , cleaned . The only minor issue is that sometimes fwd brakes may not "stow" totally and discs get hotter than they should ( will soon clean the calipers, waiting for repair gasket kit ) ... The ABS rings cleaned from pads/shoes dirt with press-air. The often mentioned under-back-bench connections checked cleaned reconnected as well. Any thoughts to guide further ?
Thanks in advance ,
TT
