We Connect Go discontinued

I received this email last week from VW notifying me that they discontinuing We Connect Go:

well...

That was short and sweet (not!)

We had a great internet connected heating system controller; you could alter the scheduled times at will and turn on or off if your work/holiday changed. Then, as with, you we had an email out of the blue saying they were discontinuing our internet app and function! They did offer a very good deal on their already in use replacement service.

It was so useful for us that we changed over.. there is a lot more you can do with it of course but it was another investment that we didn't expect to fork our for.

What is the VW replacement out of curiosity?

I'm not sure if there is a replacement since most of their cars now come from factory already connected rendering the blutetooth device obsolete. If there is a replacement I'm sure someone in the know will respond.
