Hi everyone
This is my first ever post on this forum and would like to start it by asking about fitting parking sensors to my car.
I drive a 2022 Polo Life and apparently, parking sensors are optional on it and the previous owner never opted for the sensors. Is there any way that I can get sensors retrofitted to this car and have them connect to the car like they would've from factory? Or will I have to resort for the parking sensors that just make a beeping sound (which are okay, but I am hoping for the former to happen)? Thank you for any advice

Re: Retrofitting parking sensors that link to the infotainment system
I fitted the beep type myself to an old Polo with no canbus errors (probably too old to have any effect.. They worked great but had an lcd display showing proximity so I turned of the beep.. they were accurate.
When changing to a modern Polo (AW) i was looking for a model in my budget with Parking sensors as standard.. not many. I looked for companies doing after market fitments to see if it was doable.. most wanted around £500 to fit OEM parts. So it is obviously doable but will probably require some coding from other searches.
I decided to wait till I got a Polo with original factory fitted sensors and got front and rear into the bargain.
I didn't really want to fit the older system as it was enough to fit a rear view camera (non OEM)
All the best with it!

Hi everybody!
Thanks for the kind words, I've seen a full original system retrofit from Advanced In-Car Technologies for about 1.3k so I guess I will have to wait

I took another look and thought I'd seen something cheaper.. with them when i looked
It is OPS but.. perhaps uses their own system but with the existing display (and look the same as mine..)
for the rears as well you'd save an awful lot of money!

i guess the 1.3K would be for fronts and rears? sounds a bit expensive to me but not completely unrealistic since you have to tear down half the interior

I guess if the 'alternative' to what I posted is not what the poster wants (I have no problem with choices a person wants.. non of my business) ...
... then my question would be; could I get the car spec I want for less than my splashing out for after market OEM fitting?

nowadays ordering something from the factory is usually much cheaper than aftermarket retrofitting. if I had to do a front+rear PDC retrofit, I'd probably also be in the 1000 euro region somewhere. About half for the parts and about half for labour.

Probably right
then it comes down to ability and desire to do it...
