Car is 2007 1.2
If I blip the throttle whilst the car is rolling say at 30mph the engine revs up way more than it should maybe up to 4500rom and hangs there for for a few seconds and then drops down, it quite disconcerting as you think it’s going to keep revving for ever!! But when the car is stationary the throttle responds normally? I’m guessing that maybe the ecu has some kind of speed sensor and maybe it is faulty??
Strange throttle issue
Re: Strange throttle issue
I’m guessing this is an uncommon issue?? Any help would be much appreciated

Re: Strange throttle issue
Try cleaning the throttle body.
Maybe there is a carbon buildup

Re: Strange throttle issue
The car's engine ECU is recognising the road speed, that will be why it does not do this when the car is stationary.
Re: Strange throttle issue
Does anyone know where ecu receives speed data from? I’m guessing it might be the speedo itself or is their another sensor somewhere?
Also how is it checked?
