Polo BlueGT 2013 Xenon retrofit

Post by juki757 »

Hey! Another topic regarding this but there is so much confusing information around that little help would be valued. My car is: 2014 Pre-facelift LHD Polo BlueGT with the H7 halogen headlights, headlight washers, fog lights with integrated DRL lights, and with BCM 7H0 937 090B (Max).

I have sourced pair of OE Xenon headlights. From what I've read there seems to be two options to retrofit them.

1) "The lazy way": change the headlights and put 10 pin --> 14 pin adapter.
-The adapter: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000346677861.html
-Follow the wiring diagram found in the listing page and install the harness and the lights?
-Then program BCM with VCDS following this page: https://www.uk-polos.net/viewtopic.php?t=66324 ?
-The question is how the lights will work? When the LED DRL are on, will the stock halogen DRL in the fog lights be on as well? Will the cornerning lights in the Xenon light work in combination with the cornering light in the fog light? Can I still use the manual headlight range control next to the steering wheel? Can I reverse the changes easily if I need to change back to original for inspection?

2) The proper way: change the headlights and retrofit auto leveling system.
-Is my BCM ready for auto leveling?
-Another issue seems to be the car has start and stop, and all the looms for retrofitting auto leveling that I can find (for example https://kufatec.com/en/cable-set-auto-l ... o-6r/38394) declare that the car can't have start stop system installed.
-Is there 10-->14pin loom available for retrofitting Xenon headlights as well as auto leveling, with wiring guide?

Any help will be gratefully accepted. This is a topic that tons of information is available, but it becomes very confusing with all the different version and stuff :D

There is only one way to install bi-xenon headlights on the 6R, 'the right way'.

- MY scheme is ideal for your BlueGT.
- Your BCM and your BlueGT are suitable for this retrofit. Bixenon, automatic headlight leveling system, ... automatic lights (dimming mirror + R/L sensor).
- If Ali's looms are according to my scheme, they are perfect. I don't know how they made them nor do I participate in any way in it.
- When installing Bixenon headlights with the T10-T14 adapters, the halogen headlight leveling system is rendered useless.

You can install the Bixenon headlights that you currently have and then (at another time) the automatic headlight leveling system, there is no problem in this regard.

The Original wiring of your Bluegt for fog lights, 'front' side/parking lights and DRLs must be modified as indicated in my scheme.
It is very easy to understand and do if you understand how the current wiring of your Bluegt is configured/set from the factory/original (follow my scheme🕵️‍♂️).
Problems arise when the 'individuals' who intend to do this retrofitting do not have the appropriate skills or tools to do the installation, etc ...

Coding the bi-xenon headlights or the automatic headlight leveling unit is no problem.
Maybe or not, it is necessary to parameterize your BCM 090B for the parking/position lights to work. It can be done easily with VCP.
Request help here if you deem it appropriate and I'm still alive...😁

Look at my hand🖐... forget all the diagrams and installations you have seen and focus your attention on my scheme, the truth is there...🔮😄

First of all thank you for the answer. 8) The wiring scheme looks easy enough to understand and execute. The car shouldn't have prior changes in the electrics.

So the loom (10-14 pin) and the scheme is compatible with the auto leveling and if I were to add the auto leveling, there wont be other changes needed in the "engine side" of the car apart from 10-14 pin changes? The auto leveling sensor for the rear axle (6R0941273B), the control unit (6R0907357) and the dimmer switch without the headlight range adjust (6Q09413349B9) are easy and affordable to find.

But is there a wiring loom, scheme and coding available to complete the auto leveling retrofit? I am afraid that retrofitting the auto leveling is the only way to do this, since there is annual inspection in Finland where they check the headlight aim system.

If you understand the scheme, you already know all the work to be done in the engine area. You will have to make modifications to the original wiring and add the auto-leveling wires to the T14 connectors.

This is the only information I can provide you since my bi-xenon headlights were from the factory (original diagrams, etc).

Remember that your BlueGT does not have an external GW (j533), it has an internal GW integrated into the BCM. That is, the T20 connector is not applicable to your BlueGT.

Warning: the 6R diagrams are not the easiest to understand...

It depends on what you have done when you finish the installation.

Surely someone else on the forum can provide you with more help as the auto-leveling system has been a 'common' retrofit.

Thanks again. I wonder if this harness would work: https://www.carsystems.eu/wiring-for-au ... id923.html Of course in combination of separate headlight harness (Aliexpress), leveling module, headlights, leveling sensor and suitable coding :?
