Problem with App Connect

Post by Ian T »

Hi Folks

This has been driving me mad since I took delivery of the car last week.

When I get in the car it automatically connects the bluetooth to my phone (which I would expect) whereby I can make phone calls in the normal way but as soon as I try App Connect and it asks me to select a technology (Apple) and I select my phone it disconnects the bluetooth on my phone so I can't even make phone calls (until I re-connect in the phone setting) so basically at the moment I can't use apple car play at all. Weirdly the only function in apple car play itself that works when the bluetooth is disconnected is the phone app????

Is anyone else having/had this problem and is there a way of fixing it. I did the 0330 update the other day but it didn't fix it!!!!

Cheers

Ian

Try with cable the first time.
Look also under settings of carplay (in your Phone)

I've already tried with the cable and it doesn't work at all!!!! In carplay settings it says to "press and hold the voice control button on your steering wheel" which I tried and that didn't work either

Weird, in both my cars polo 2022 and t-cross 2021 it worked straight away. Without the cable.

Does your iPhone block something?
Did you try another phone?

You have to press and hold the voice control button for 2 or 3 sec to use with maps or other navigation app.

If you have normal voice control it only works with the cars build in phone app and vw navigation.

Many thanks for the advice Maarten and I will try pressing the voice control for longer but as I mentioned as soon as I try App Connect and it asks me to select a technology (Apple) and I select my phone it disconnects the bluetooth on my phone so I'm not sure that will work.... it's really weird and I have no idea why it would do that

No problem
Did you check the rights of the app?

In my gti it did the same thing, it would just make the call through the Apple app on CarPlay. Sound quality was never as good as with standard Bluetooth connection. This seems to be a VW thing as not had this issue in other cars.

It is clear that VW's CarPlay integration has an impact on call quality when compared to regular Bluetooth, a typical issue not found in other automobiles.[https://nullsbrawl.gg]Null Brawl APK Download[/url]

So I still haven't resolved my Car Play/App Connect issues, it just does not work (wired or wireless). In fairness in the Golf it had to be wired so I never used it anyway but because it’s a feature that should work it just annoys me.

Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this please

To resolve this, ensure you're using a high-quality or original cable, and that Bluetooth is enabled on both your phone and the car. Reboot both the phone and the infotainment system if needed. GB WhatsApp
