Guys
Ive worked with a friend to make replacement parts for the headlight leveller brackets that often break on 6N2 headlights. This is what causes the beam to point to the floor, and is responsible for a variety of MOT failures.
It can happen over time, or if the headlight experiences any kind of knock or shock, this can cause it too.
This can save a costly replacement headlight from being purchased. The new ones are made out of aluminium as pictured below and are a direct swap for the inferior plastic items used from the factory. They are easily fitted by removing the back of the headlight and unscrewing the damaged bracket, then screwing the replacement bracket in.
These are the brackets that the leveller motor ball connects into
They can be purchased from Gregg via eBay here

If the aluminium ones are unavailable, another company reproduces them in a stronger plastic which wont break, plus they give a lifetime warranty

Re: Replacement 6N2 Headlight Leveller Brackets
Alex,
Apologies for digging up an old thread but i've purchased one of these, is there a DIY on how to fit it? Slightly concerned as the plastic levelling screw seems to have been lost but at least I can adjust with the headlight out

Oh dear. Are you talking about the levelling screw in the middle or on the end?
There is no guide as such - its a case of headlights out, remove xenon bulb and levelling motor, unscrew old levelling bracket, fit new levelling bracket, screw in (only goes on one way)
slide levelling motor ball into levelling bracket - it will NOT pop in
Job done

Can these brackets still be obtained? I'd be interested in buying 4

Re: Replacement 6N2 Headlight Leveller Brackets
Sorry but my two clips have broken on each side on my gti headlights and I’m going to buy the plastic levelling clips off eBay. Has anyone got any pics of where they would fit. VERY URGANT

You can see them once you remove the covers on the back of the headlights
For this to be easy you need to have the headlights off the car
