Hi I would like to know how to covert my front end of the polo GTI 6r 1.4 to the 6c GTI bumper. Is it a straight swap or do the wings and headlight need to be changed as well?
Thanks!

I don't know where this is based on, but it's not the case.

@iichel; Maybe it was the mk7 to mk7.5 (facelift) Golf.
VW stated in their mk7.5 marketing and promotional literature when the mk7 Golf golf was facelifted that it had new front wings, bumpers and headlights, and although the wings looked exactly the same as those on the pre-facelift car, someone over on golfmk7.com forum posted a picture of an attempt to fit a mk7.5 golf bumper to a mk7 car. There were differences in the area of the panel join between the wing and bumper and the headlight aperture which meant the later bumper (and headlights) wouldn’t fit the earlier car without changing the wing as well.
Bus as you’ve said, this is not the case with the Polo.

Thanks for the information! Does anyone know where I can purchase the 6C GTI Bumper from (UK)?

Assuming you’re looking for a used one, they occasionally turn up on online auction sites such as eBay, but they may be incomplete or damaged. If you have any car breakers in your area, you could try them, or alternatively, car breaker websites.
Realistically, there probably aren’t that many 6c GTI bumpers for sale. The 6c Polo GTI was launched in early 2015 (later than the rest of the 6c range of models) and the first models probably didn’t arrive in the UK until mid around June/July 2015. Production of the 6c stopped in (I think) Q3 of 2017, so a relatively short production time span for the UK 6c GTI’s. Used bumpers are only likely to be available for sale off cars that have sustained rear end damage, or if owners have modified their cars and fitted an aftermarket replacement bumper.
The other option would be a new bumper ordered from a VW dealer, but I dare say it would be very expensive! .
Good luck with your search.

Bumping into this old post sorry
Out of curiosity would any of you guys know if the Mk7 golf gti facelift front bumper is the exact same size as the 2016 polo 1.8 gti facelift bumper ?
In pictures they look almost identical , i was thinking that the golfs one maybe slightly wider ?

Re: VW POLO GTI 6R conversion to 6C bumper
Although the front end styling of a 2016 6c Polo GTI and a mk7 Golf GTI facelift car (known as the mk7.5) are quite similar, which might also give the illusion of the two cars being the same size, the Golf is a larger car in all dimensions, including the width. Therefore, a mk7.5 Golf GTI front bumper will be larger than the front bumper on a 6c Polo GTI. Even if the 2 cars were the same width, there will be differences in headlamp shape / size and the wing to bumper shut lines and I dare say other small, subtle differences that would prevent the Golf’s bumper being interchangeable with the Polo’s.2fast4ya wrote: ↑Fri Nov 22, 2024 6:52 pm Bumping into this old post sorry

Interestingly, the mk7.5 Golf GTI front bumper won’t even fit a mk7 pre-facelift Golf GTI (someone on one of the Golf forums tried and failed). VW actually (strangely?) subtly changed the design of the front wings and headlamps when they facelifted the mk7 Golf so front bumper, wings and headlamps aren’t even interchangeable between the mk7 and mk7.5 models.

I thought that would the case SRGTD ,
I wanted to add a front splitter to my car , i saw one in a advert for selling front splitters but the splitter was on the golf mk7 /7.5 facelift so thought it would possibly be able to fit on my polo .
