We need 10 peeps before it goes ahead AFAIK. So far we have 7 confirmed buyers. Thats the stage we're at isn't it? Once 10 peeps have signed up, we're on for a GB.

I'm still up for this as hanging on to the car for another year and pcoketing my car allowance. are these easy to fit? failing that willing to funish palms with silver and a few beers if some can assist. What ware we looking at cost wise. Also after some help with suspension - whats the best kit to go for. Thanks Si

Cost-wise Si we are looking at £148.05, including VAT and the modification to the kit for better fitting to the Polo. To have the kit fitted by JBS in Chesterfield will cost a further £82.25, delivery costs will be confirmed when the GB goes ahead. So far, the list stands at:

1. Si_GTi - Shifter and Fitting
2. mikegti - Shifter and Delivery
3. ICEYPOLO - Shifter only (will collect)
4. Neilw - Shifter and Delivery
5. live2themaxuk- Shifter and Delivery
6. M@Turner - Shifter only (will collect)
7. Cyhliu - Shifter and Fitting

You are free to choose between fitting at JBS, or requesting delivery. As I recall, we need 10 confirmed buyers for this to go ahead. If you're in, add yourself to the list and call up JBS (01246 550 400, ask for Sarah, mention Josh sent you) to confirm your interest (that also applies to anyone already on the list who hasn't phoned up). We only need three more confirmed buyers for this to go ahead!

Cheers

Hey Si_GTI,

The £82.25 for fitting, is that including VAT?

Cheers, just wondering if I would trust myself to fit it...!

short shift thingy

Post by SimonCorrigan »

Thanks for your help - might need to pospone the purchase for a few months as a more important purchase of a new house has got in the way. On the plus side we have made over £23k so may have a few bob to spend on the car once the minister of war has brought a new kitchen, moved doors and windows etc etc. Any ideas on what suspension to go for? Have a good weekend all. Cheers Si

When I called up it was just to confirm my definite interest - no-one asked for my payment details, I presumed that'd be taken care of when the GB is finalised? However, I'm happy to phone them back up and give credit card details if necessary, just thought I'd do that on getting the kit fitted :)

Can anyone confirm if this B&M kit fits the other models in the mk5 range, besides the GTi? Are they not all the same gearbox? If the B&M fits all 6n2s, we could drum up some interest in the mk5 forum and get the numbers up, I was thinking. But I need someone to confirm that the kit will fit, say, a 1.0 or a 1.4 Polo, before I post there.

Cheers

Number six to call and register the interest.

Rang them today after thinking that it's been a long time this GB has been going on that I should really get my arse in gear and call!

Don't want to be letting the rest of you guys down, Sarah mentioned that they would probably go ahead with the current numbers since no one else has responded, come on the rest of you, if I can do it so can you...just pick up the phone...press 0..1..2..4..6..5..5..0..4..0..0 and bag yourself a bargain!
