Boot handle

Post by GTI NUT »

I know there was a thread recently about this, just noticed slight corrosion on my boot handle, I know it is common fault and sent email to local dealership. Quoted me £117 plus vat this includes fitting and spraying

Think this is a bit much, they have suggested that Volkswagen customer services may offer me adiscount if I called them as they know its a defect.

Anyone know where I can get one of these cheaper even if still needs to be painted.

jus get the current one taken off and smoothed back down then sprayed... it should only be corrosion of the lacquer... i've got it on mine but i'm gonna leave it for now and get it flushed in eventually...

Yeah, mine's the same. I don't think I'll bother with it, later I may try and fix it myself but cannot see it being cheap having the dealer do it and neither will it be covered on the extended warranty as it is more than likely excluded!

Thanks for help :) , that sounds like much better idea,Its not that noticeable just now I had checkedit after reading about problems on here and I knew it was a problem on the golfs. I knew that local dealer would be rip off but just thought I would find out how much
