Nice, so it seems you can get the version without front fog lights on aliexpress after all
I am trying to message the seller to make sure if it is exactly the same as pictured, because you can't be sure. I got my chrome trimmed window and mirror switches from aliexpress this week, and the mirror switch I got wasn't the one pictured. I got the Golf mk6 version with different shape and also for folding mirrors. I could just switch the chrome knob itself like you did, but the seller agreed to send me the correct switch for the 6R.
Of course I have the full kit and switch for front fog lights which will work perfectly (still not installed, been quite busy). But don't know if I ever will install front fogs, at least not until I have a set of extra black lower covers for the WRC bumper that I can cut out holes in. And until I do, I prefer a switch without front fogs. So i might order this one too. Should be no change in coding compared to the coding you already sent me.

You're right, but i need one with only back fog lights. Already contacted the user and he told me it's exactly as in the picture.
No Fernando, I will be installing the WRC bumper, no need for front fog lights.

You had bad luck with the shipping of mirror switch. Do not worry, I know that the chinese solve it soon...
You do not need to change the coding that I sent you.

I'm looking forward to seeing pictures of your BlueGT when you have installed WRC's bumpers.
Here's a photo shoot as will be the result:

So you got it confirmed with the seller that it is exactly like in the picture? Because I asked him the same thing, he asked back what car model I have. I told him I have the Polo and that I know that the part fits the Polo too, so I only need to know if the part is exactly like in the picture (with auto and without front fog). The answer was "Sorry, this we are still in production, if we produce good I contact you again".
So I don't know really...

cheba, for your information and as a reference to speak with the seller 3C8 941 431 XSH light switch does not have the pin number 5 (front fog lights), look at this picture.

Thanks for the info, good to know. Unfortunately I don't think speaking with the seller about pin numbers will help, since the seller has not been able to answer less technical questions like "is the part exactly as in the picture?" or "does the switch have auto lights and rear fog light, but NOT front fog lights?"
I tried explaining that I want the part number "3C8 941 431" without a letter at the end (not 3C8 941 431A, 3C8 941 431B etc.) and then he said something about still in production. I asked him to clarify, he then said they are being produced, but not in stock, and that they will be in stock later.
By the way, I tried taking off the door panels to change the window switches, but couldn't get any of the clips out. I used a set of trim removal tools, not exactly the same as the ones you linked, but similar. I used the service manual for the 2 door model (slightly different clip positions), removed the screws, stuck the tool under the edge of the plastic and tried bending. The edge of the door trim just flexed slightly, it is really tight and I was afraid of breaking it, but the clips didn't release. I tried sliding the tool back and forth along the door to try and find the clips, but they are so far from the edge you can't get to them. Don't know what I am doing wrong

I asked him if the it had front and back fog lights or just the back, but his english as most aliexpress users, is not good at all, lol. He answered me that they don't have at the moment but they will produce... I think he understood that i wanted one with front and back fog lights, my guess is that they only have the one as in the picture... lol
I don't want to ask him anymore questions otherwise I will confuse him and it may cause brain damage...

Start by clips at the bottom of the panel.

Hi grem, in the next picture I think the trims does not have the same shape in the area of buttons.
So it will not be a straight swap.

ciclo wrote:Start by clips at the bottom of the panel.

I tried again today and managed to get it, with some help of my girlfriend to slightly pull out the door panel so I could get the tool in between and find the clips. Once I found them it was actually quite easy, just like you said. Only managed to bend one of the clips when re-installing the driver's door panel (the clip in the front and high up, just under the rear view mirror). The connectors for the cable on the driver's side didn't fit well enough for the locking clip to engage, tried taking the switch out again but then the back part broke. So I used the OEM switch and just transferred the chrome buttons over. Was going to do the same for the passenger side to keep the OEM quality of the switch itself, but the mechanism inside the button was slightly different, so I had to change the entire switch to the new one. But now they are installed, and working
EDIT: Wording

cheba thank you very much for sharing your experience with this work, surely the next time you will do it in a better way.
Enjoy your new switches.
