Also, how long does it take to clay the car, i've heard it takes hours..?!
Depends how bad your car is!
Takes me 20 mins to do mine (I do it quarterly).
And will probably take me about 30-45 minutes to do a really bad car, after a good wash.

I had my car clayed when it was detailed but I have never done it myself.
I would love to have a go though, at what stage of the cleaning do you actually do it?
Is it good wash, clay, wash again, polish, glaze and then Wax?

Yeah that's pretty much what I'm going for. Going to pressure wash it first then snow foam, good 2 bucket wash with my new mitt, then clay, rewash, glaze and wax.
It's pretty tidy paintwork etc so don't think claying will take that long. Tim when claying do you recommend putting anything with the water that I'm using to lubricate the clay??

Water's fine mate. You can always add like 10:1 dilution of quick detailer if you want though.

Dodo Juice Red Mist is a good quick detailer mate, that's what I use.
Smells great too and really easy to apply

AG shampoo is pretty crap if you ask me.
It was the first shampoo I used and I wasn't greatly impressed, I bought some the otherday (AG shampoo) because it was all the had at my local; it doesn't sud properly. I'd recommend Shampoo Plus (Megs) over it any day.
Poorboys Spray and Gloss is really good quick detailer.

Id have to agree with Tim. Megs shampoo is far more sudsy and the bubbles last longer when you are washing the motor.

I used to use Auto Glym Shampoo but was never impressed with it, I now use Dodo Juice Sour Power which i'm pretty pleased with.
Its not the best stuff out there but it lasts for ages and smells great.

Question to everyone on here with pressed plates.
What are yours stuck on with?
I've got mine stuck on with some halfords adhesive numberplate stickers, but after a couple weeks they seem to be losing grip! Anyone recommend something better?
