Michaela,
Car's looking excellent, coming along really well.
Been looking at a lot of GTI progress threads on here to see what other people have been doing as well.
Very jealous about the white centres, been toying with that idea for a long time. However, the logistics of taking the wheels off and not being able to use the car for a while persuaded me not to. Instead I managed to pick up another set of RX2s for a good price with gloss black centres. They look pretty good, fully refurbed. Cannot wait to get them on, waiting for the weather to improve a bit first.
Not many other people seem to get their windows tinted which I was surprised about, that was the first thing I did.
Also been toying with the GTI footrest which I guess you got off ebay because I think I've been watching the same one. Trying to get some TT pedals atm as well as mine are a bit cheap!
I've stuck a picture on just so you can see the difference with the windows (Have had the front ones done since the picture too).
(I'm also new on here too, this is my first post. Been a while since I've used photobucket so bear with me if I didn't copy the right link!)

Cheers for your PM Michaela but it seems that I can't reply. Guess it's cos I'm new?

You're welcome with the comment and thanks for yours. Just posted some more pictures in the GTI Photography section if you're interested have a little look in there. I read about your Polo on here, really sad. I think I'd just be too mad if someone did that to me, not sure how I'd control myself!
Yeah the windows is definitely something you wanna do. Looks great on a black car, just depends how dark you want to go really. I've got limo black on the rears and then not as dark up front. Got a sunstrip the other day too which is pretty cool.
I wasn't sure whether that footrest would fit tbh, didn't think it was the right one but looks pretty good on yours so think I'll have to go for it now :D
I used to go out a LOT back a few years ago when I had my Saxo (first car!). Modified that a bit but it was all about the looks really no power, couldn't wait to get something a bit bigger and the GTI never lets me down everytime I drive it. 'Cruising' used to be a big thing with all my friends but over time people move on really, especially when everyone went to uni. Graduating this year and hopefully going to try and get back into it again. I live in Newbury, pretty near Reading, and they have a cruise every Sunday evening, so will most likely head up there as often as I can. It seems everyone wants to get on the German scene now! Although, I rarely see anything quite like ours!

Very nice.
I had a question that I was going to ask about the interior. Some of the GTIs have leather interior is that because people have changed it? As some people I've seen bought their car with it like that. Does the standard GTI come without them or does it depend?

The leather interior was a optional extra on the GTI when they were new mate, some have leather but the majority dont.
The Colour concept 6N2 Polo's did have Recaro leather seats as standard but they are very rare indeed.

I was one of the lucky one's that had leather and it does make the interior stand out, it also had front heated seats too.

Car is looking lovely! Nice little mods too :)
I'm liking th White RXIIs idea. I'm not normally fond of those wheels being any other colour then silver/grey shades, but white would actually suit them really well, and look superb in your black car :)

Ah thought the leather might have been something optional or what people have put in afterwards if they can get their hands on them.
Haven't got a build thread at the mo Ben, wasn't sure whether to start one up or not. I'll work on that today :D

Looking forward to seeing those white RX2s on that Polo Michaela!
