I know brad I know, its very disheartening.
Dad is going to speak to the neighbour tomorrow so we shall see
Ill get some pics tim...just brings you down you know? When you spend so much time perfecting the finish, then it all gets ruined
Its probably gonna be an insurance jobby - claim and a full respray here we come, but this time itll be done by a proper VW approved bodyshop!!

I know what you mean dude,im probably simular in the way of a perfectionist and it definately shows in your car how much time and care you put into it.
Hope things work out and still this time you can only go out there and do it better than before. An excuse to have it absolutely immaculate.
Keep us updated mate.

After applying some special polish, the effect of the damage is severly less...thank god for science!
Though it says it may take a few days for it to improve further.
Ill get some pics when the new windscreen is fitted this Thursday

Proper fitting rain sensor at at last!

That's awful mate, I know how disheartening it can be when something happens to your car.
I hope you manage to put it right without too much cost.
Has the special polish eliminated the bubbling or just reduced it significantly?
If you do go for the full re-spray then let me know how much it will cost, I am treating my GTI to a full respray next year.

Ooops forgot to update!
New windscreen is fitted, and rain sensor works perfectly

Automatic wipers ftw!
Currently, everything appears to be ok. Ill get it clean this week and do a little shoot me thinks
Only slight problem is a squeak coming from the rear n/s boot area. Not yet sure what it is, but it gets worse on hard left turns so im a little stumped! Will have to do some investigation me thinks....

Well, spent all of yesterday working on the Mk3 - one of the fuel tank breather hoses had split and was leaking rather seriously
Had a bit of time to look at the GTI. Seems the exhaust is rattling, and needs to be further into its sleeve, so that needs to be fixed.
Also took the top of the suspension off on the rear passenger side and tightened it all up, and it *appears* to be better, though im not yet sure if its 100% fixed
More to follow....

What exhaust system have you got on their Alex?
It looked like a Scorpion DTM system on a picture you had in photogallery section, or was that just a cap?
Ben,

The paint situation....ummm well its filthy atm. Let me clean it and see what its like!
The exhaust - its a full cat back Scorpion stainless system in the 'Boxer' style
Its a nice exhaust system - very free flowing, and just loud enough

Cool

not seen you mention that before so I was a little surprised when I saw the picture.
I had my Mongoose Cat back system delivered on Friday so fingers crossed that will be fitted later in the week. That has Twin 3" tail pipes.
Looks really good but still slightly concerned it might look too big on the car.
Ben,

Gonna wash it later. Its all flattenned down but is still noticable last time i looked. Ye....it appears hes had nothing done, so it mustve just been some real acidic rain
