Alex, your clutch problem sounds rather similar to mine at the moment. Although mine was only fitted approx 4 months ago and has done barely 2000 miles.

What clutch did you have fitted, mine was a LUK from GSF, all new along with a new vw clutch cable. Its a pain as you say because its so fiddly. Does yours judder and sound like its grinding?

The random feel has been there almost since it was fitted to be honest!

I actually dont know. Im gonna say an LUK, but without having the 'box off I wont be able to tell as I didn't fit the clutch - it was done before I started doing complicated mechanics.

As far as I know, I have a new clutch cable, but its wierd. It comes and goes, but it doesnt grind - it just judders when moving off or changing gear sometimes.

Maybe it's just the adjustment on the cable that is out?

I know mine is doing the same thing, and the clutch is only 12k old, as is the cable :(

It comes and goes though - if it was the cable itd be there all the time and it wouldnt stick like it does

Im gonna check the movement of the clutch release lever and go from there me thinks

Mine comes and goes, mostly when the car has warmed up and its been going for like 20mins or so. Start it fresh in the morning and I have virtually no judder at all. When its theres its annoying as heck!

Issue sounds unusual, i'm sure you'll sort it though.

Did you manage to find a BBS bolt for me mate? I'll email you some pics of progress soon 8)
