Is mirror dip on reverse enabled on the Polo GTI? There doesn't seem to be an option for it and following the procedure to set it didn't do anything.

In terms of 'comfort' mode with the sport button, I think there is a noticeable difference with the fimness of the ride. I still feel the ride is slightly firm - but that isn't a bad thing as it is a GTI. Sport mode is great around country roads, roundabouts etc there is a ridiculous amount of grip! Clearly not as much as the ST however the GTI beats the ST in other areas! There is also perhaps a slight change noticed in the torque available earlier in the rev range. The torque is so punchy on a motorway, but be warned other drivers will notice this and see a challenge!

I reckon The GTI is easily one of the best looking from the hot hatch range, particularly with the new face lift. The LED daytime lights really make it stand out. I'd like to see it next to the new cupra, however I think the interior of the GTI would be classier in the VW. I'll be very disappointed if VW have allowed Seat to make the cupra better than the GTI!

You can still get a solid 40mpg from a long drive of booting it and cruising; with air con and the radio still on. Mine has still only done a few hundred miles and therefore the performance and economy can be expected to improve. That's why I'm even more in love with it!

Hi,

Wonder if anyone else is in the same boat as me. My car changed from being built to in transit on the 8th September. Since then its not changed. Is anyone the same? How long after build date have those of you who have your cars had to wait.

Cheers

Reply to a couple of questions.

Without the sport button pressed normal mode is very comfortable. The car soaks up the bumps in the road quite easily....It is a far more comfortable ride than the previous Polo GTI. In sport mode the ride does indeed get a bit bouncy at times.

My mirrors fold but certainly don't dip on reversing.

Hopefully mine is in the same boat as yours (literally!)

Mine was confirmed build for w/c 31 August and the tracker changed straight to 'in transit' on 3rd September, and still says that now :(

I checked with the dealer early this last week (15th) and he said it was still portside in Spain, with a ship due to leave the next day, but no confirmation mine would be on it :( :(

He said he'd come back again later in the week with more info, but still heard nothing :( :( :(

I assume they are made in Pamplona, which is quite near Bilbao, so guess they sail from there. Better than Barcelona where most of the VW factories are it seems.

From Bilbao I suspect it should take no more than 48 hours to dock in the UK.

A huge proportion of car imports come in through Grimsby and Immingham docks, ironically only a few miles from where I live. I say ironically because if mine does come in that way, it'll pass me within half a mile on the M180 en route to Glasgow where I need to pick it up from!

Good evening, all.

I've been reading through all 87 pages of this thread with great interest over the last few weeks and am now delighted to confirm that after a test-drive at my dealer yesterday, I have today paid a deposit and ordered my new Polo GTI. I'm advised that it should arrive at some point in December. I've gone for a three-door manual in silver, with convenience pack and car-net app.

Can't wait for it to arrive!!

Cheers.

Paid deposit on Saturday there and had a call from dealer today to say I've got Build Week 44, so hopefully have the car late November. Does that sound about right?

P.S. - Mikeyander5on - can't reply to your PM. I'm assuming I haven't got enough posts on here yet to PM folks?
