Just saying again. S2000 0-60 is 5.5 and the ed30 is 6.8...

Driver error perhaps..... On the s2000 driver.

Stages mean modding stages eg intake exhaust at different stages along the line of the tuning offered so n/a have stages aswell lol...

Only wanted to state facts lol..... I love the ed30 just saying there are much faster cars out there just look up the times for yourself then you can say what you want....

Just saying, you guys better watch out when i get my 1.0 beast of a 6n2 out. Takes the p*** out of its bigger GTI brother. We are talking about some serious ponies in the stable here. Its running a MAHL oil filter, MAHL air filter and a set of NGK's finest R rated plugs. Quite something to handle in a straight line let alone in the bends. However i think the pro grip tires do a reasonable job when the back end slides out when drifting round a roundabout. Its even running a thule roof rack which adds extra downforce. (trust me you need it in this beast)

Im willing to take people on but i wouldn't if you don't want to go home crying

Sorry to Hijack the Honda vs VAG argument but it’s quite easy to slate the Type R's and S2000's if you have never driven one/been a passenger.
The Type R is a proper animal on the track and will leave a Golf & S3 in the corners, independent rear suspension on the Type R makes it handle brilliantly and they pull so well in the VTEC rev range.

S3 & ED30 might have a slight advantage in a straight line drag which is ok at Santa pod but on the track the cheaper Type R will leave them behind.
Leon Cupra, S3, Focus ST, Golf ED30 will all pull slightly on the Type R in a straight line but put them on a track and it’s a different story all together.

The EP3 Type R is pound for pound the best hot hatch out there today :D and that’s exactly why I got one
The Noise they make is far better than any turbo charger engine too 8)

You should be comparing the ED30 against the JDM Type R really though as it’s the top spec import Civic which has more power, is lighter and has a LSD.

An NA engine always sounds raspier, but I think youd quite like the sound of my ED30 when I boot it Ben

The Type R does have some positives on the handling front, but the argument still stands that a remapped ED30 would leave a Type R for dust and with some performance upgrades on the handling and braking would munch it in the corners

I have driven a Type R in both the older (EP3) and newer chassis' and I can agree they are quick, but turbos are much more fun :P Kickback into the seat ftw

You cant compare a modified car vs a standard car though Alex

Sure a re-mapped ED30 is going to be faster than a standard Type R but if you Supercharge the Type R then you can quite easily wave goodbye to the ED30 :)
Were talking about stock vs stock. If you stick a set of coilovers on the Type R then its going to be even better in the corners.

The ED30 is a comfortable fast car loaded with all the extra's under the sun, whereas the Type R doesnt have any of those creature comforts and is built simply for performance rather than anything else. The downfall of the Type R is the lack of torque which is why the cars I mentioned in my previous post hold an advantage in a straight line drag.

I do love turbo cars and the kick back they give you is awesome, but in terms of noise that VTEC note is simply amazing.
Its well known that the Japanese are the kings of performance, i'm talking about Skylines, Evo's, Impreza's, RX7's, GTO's, 350Z's to name a few

Fair comments Ben :)

Though its fair to say, a supercharged EP3 is 265 BHP with around 170 ft.lb of torque

A stage 2 ed 30 is 320BHP with around 340 ft.lb of torque

Would be interesting - end of the day, BHP is nothing without torque.

BHP Wins arguements.

Torque wins races.
