Very true mate, very true. I just feel that popular mods are popular for a reason, because they work.

I think it works better on the Golf because the golf has a simpler front end. It clutters up the front too much on yours, esp. with the black badge.. It may work on a smoothed plateless 6N2, with no foglights, OEM silver emblem & no GTi badge.

I've seen the splitter on a black 6N2 before, it's just too aggressive for the lines of the Polo.

The GTI is a fantastic looking car without any enhancements at the end of the day, the only negative thing on a standard GTI is the ride height.
I always think basic upgrades work the best but fair play to you trotta for trying something new & different.

I don’t think it works well with the tow strap but as long as you like it that’s all that matters.

The tow strap is a modification that is relatively easy to remove and the only thing you would need to replace is the honeycombe foglight casing to make it look normal again.

Yeah was really worth the risk i reckon and yeah like ya said im abit out there lol!

I like the whole aggresive move outa my way look and different is good for scene points good or bad cos like uv said ya havent seen it done before and it may be liked by others,

Think i might be needing a sub tho like a tint 8 inch for some punch, i was thinking near the rear light inbetween the rear suspension mounts?

Think it can be done?

I'd imagine you will want some small spacers, yeah. Nice wheels though!

The standard BBS rims are 6J wide and ET45. My front pair of Borbets are 7J wide and ET35, which is pretty much spot on for me. Spacers are pretty common in 5mm and 10mm sizes, so if you pop a set of 5mm spacers on the front then the ET will be reduced to ET37. You could fit 10mm spacers on the rear for an ET32 fitment, I can't imagine you'd have any clearance issues or scrubbing?

Nice.

Right, firstly I'd get some 165/50s for them. Bridgestone stretch the best, so I'd opt for those over Kumhos or Nakangs as these will scrub more (& and aren't as good!).

Due to the unusually large spigot on the rear hub of the 6N2, you can't go lower than 15mm spacers on the rear. In fact you may well struggle with anything under 20mm.

I'd go 15mm front, 20mm back. that be perfect.

My Cups are 15X7 ET 28 with Bridgestone 165/50s, and that was spot on, with no rubbing at all.

Oh nooooooo :( :(

I've had these wheels for months lol, never seen another GTi with them on. Mine are a project though :) Good choice though. Mine are also ET25, so sit perfectly.

Get some pics up when they're fitted.

Spacers for the look 8) they wont scrub with out spacers ..

i have 42 ET on my wheels and i had 15mm front 20mm bak and stretched tyres 165/40 and they dint scrub at all :D

spacers will put more wear and tear on your wheel bearings :(

165/50 isn't insane at all. And the police won't do anything about it.

165/50 is just right for 7s in my opinion.

I'm not a fan of massive stretch either, it's pretty dangerous!

185/45s are for 8js 8)
