Re: White 6R - journey to E38
Managed to have the s**t start to my 18th birthday today - I was leaving a car park in Leicester and managed to scrape my side skirt on the curb due to fiddling with my sat nav. The paint is about to come off so I need to sort it ASAP and its pushed the skirt up slightly also. Took it to my local body shop and they quoted me £280 for the repair so it looks like any work on this car is gonna be put off for quite some time now, especially seeing as I'm going to uni in September.
Really f**ked up my day I'm so angry at myself - if anyone knows anywhere I could get it done cheaper in the midlands area please let me know

Is it the side sill that has caught?? What a bummer.
On a happier note Happy 18th Birthday

Re: White 6R - journey to E38
apparently the sill is made of fibre glass meaning i can leave it without it rusting and fill it to fix it, can anyone confirm this for me?
Re: White 6R - journey to E38
Mhhh interesting see if a magnet sticks to it or not,
Re: White 6R - journey to E38
They are metal, been out with a magnet and it sticks.

Re: White 6R - journey to E38
i'm gonna call volkswagen - it might be sticking to the metal strip at the top of the skirt as i think that fibre glass panels are attached with a strip running along where they are attached - I hope so anyway. A lot of the skirt that came off was soft and could be pulled apart which obviously isn't what metal would do so I'm hoping it's fibreglass
