27/01/20 - Ordered VW Polo GTI+
03/07/20 - Received 5A Notification (Left Factory)
30/07/20 - Received 5B Notification (Arrived in Emden)
31/07/20 - Dealer confirmed car is actually at the UK port (Sheerness)
10/08/20 - Booked to collect car!

In other words, didn't hear much for 5 months (mainly down to Covid 19), then in the space of a month, car has gone from leaving factory (according to tracker) to been collected from dealer. Pretty much confirms that the tracker isn't overly accurate and in my experience was behind what was actually happening. Either way, I'm very happy with how things have now turned out and I look forward to finally collecting my GTI in 10 days time!
Congratulations on that speedy delivery when it finally got going!

Just shows how much VW are in a mess, I ordered mine exactly a month after yours and still not got it, it was even built 6 weeks before yours was too

I got my stage 6 text yesterday. What I do find interesting is if I use the website version of the tracker it’s up to date. The mobile app is still at stage 5a (left factory). Probably worth people ignoring the mobile app and using the website version.

Ship: Glovis Century
Date left: 21st July
From: South Africa

Expected to reach Germany on 16th August. Anybody reckon they’re on the same ship?

How long does it take to go from Germany to being ready at the dealership? I’m eager now
You were on the same boat as me - literally! I saw on the other post that you have a December ETA, have you changed car decision?

The Glovis Century is going all around the place in South Africa so I’m doubting a 10th August delivery or 16th august delivery to Emden!

After doing some digging, it appears if you use this website; https://www.volkswagen.co.uk/owners/my#/

Appreciate that! Unfortunately it doesn’t say “it’s at your dealership” as I hoped [emoji23][emoji24]

Yeah, before I had ordered an R-Line Polo which I specced over £6000+ worth of additionals which comes to the price of a GTI+ so with some guidance, I found that the GTI+ was realistically the car for me.

I’ve noticed it’s going around South Africa. I really hope that the car is going to be ready in early September like they said! I’m finding it really hard now waiting and not knowing, as are many other people who’ve waited for WAY longer!

I know! So is your GTI on this boat or is this your old R-line?

You’ll get it soon enough don’t worry. It’ll be worth the wait! I’ll post pictures on Monday as I’ve booked a day off work to go into work to detail it.

Today I've travelled 2 hours 30 mins to the VW dealership where I've ordered the GTI+ to part-exchange my old existing car. It cannot be long now before the ship containing my car hits Germany and before I know it, it's almost time to pick it up again at the expense of another 2hr 30min drive... worth it though!

Tom, if your car is on Glovis Century, it’s next port of destination is Dakar in Senegal. It was scheduled to arrive there earlier today, but according to myshiptracking.com, Glovis Century is currently just south east of Dakar;

You’re probably looking at 2-3 weeks from Dakar to Emden, and then however long it takes for your car to be loaded onto a vessel for shipping to the UK.

Oooo that's nice! Haven't had a look at that for a while, how long usually does it take from Germany to Nuneaton?
