you might want to borrow something a little less lully for your first three months mate! (most likely time that you're going to stack it)
soooo glad i was driving my mums car during that period, but needless to say, she was not best pleased with my (unintentional) efforts to trash it!

We seem to have quite a few new members lately.
Have you got any other plans for your car after you've passed? I found the practical test easy to be honest and just scraped the theory first time 30/35, didn't have that other section when I did it. If your confident you'll be fine.
How have you got on with insurance? The first years are always expensive!

After I've passed I wanna get some 15" rims, dropped 40mm and one of those iPod compatible Alpine head-units.
Insurance was a total rip, around £1550-ish. Hopefully it'll drop after I do the "Pass Plus" thing.

I heard pass plus is supposed to count as one year no claims, if so will save a considerable amount. Although mods will push the price up too!
£1550.00, is that third party or fully comp?

if u put the cost of pass plus together, u dont save that much.
mine is £1200 fully comp, policy holder.

I was lucky enough to have the cash to buy and insure my first car fully comp

if you can afford it, do get the insurance under your own name, it all helps towards amassing your NCB bonus faster. The first year's driving counts for the equivalent to approxiamtely 30% off your second year's insurance bill, so it's worth it in the long term
When I was 17, I insured my Mini fully comp for the cheapest quote I could get... £1200

although I was on a provisional license for the first 3 months of that. Money grabbing swines didn't give me anything back when I passed my test and had a full license

Mine actually wanted more to insure me on my dad's clio after I'd passed.. apparently it's because you're more of a risk being a new driver on your own than a learner driver under supervision

hmm mine stayed the same... but i was only allowed to use my dads car twice a week
how wuld they know if i used it 3 times a week?

Third Party Only
I'm gonna upgrade to Fully Comp when I've got my full license.
Driving with supervision sucks.

Initial insurance on the 1.0E was stupid when I first passed so I went on my Mam's policy with Norwich Union Direct.
Changed it last year so I was down as main driver, but the policy was still in her name so it was still cheap. And as a bonus they've given me the equivalent of 1 years no claims as well.
However I'm looking to sell the Polo to buy an Audi A3, and Privilege have been the cheapest by a huge margin
