As I understand it the car expired on the way - something to do with lack of water so they left it and walked home - obviously in shock they would have consumed best part of a bottle of scotch to calm their nerves.....

Trouble is what they don't know is that I am fully qualified to make a judgement at the scene on their state of intoxication.... Had a few career moves over the years and one was driving this



Yes I know it's a shaggy old Senator 3.0 A series but in it's day it was a genuine 150mph car.....

I liked it so much when I drove it as a "company car" I bought it when it came up for auction and had it for several years - of course in the company guise it was a mildly tweaked plain clothes pursuit car blue lights behind the grill - alternating flashing headlights and a cut and shut parcel shelf with an electrically operated neon sign saying - "might be a good idea if you pull over and we have a chat" or should that read POLICE - STOP

Front slam panel has been folded round the downpipe - rad is sandwiched in there somewhere - headlights indicators grill bonet and front wings all a tad out of shape

Radweld will stop the leak I'm sure

Yeah joking aside it's repairable - actually I'm very impressed with the crumple zones and the way she stood up to the BM maybe 30mph combined speed at time of impact - tough old thing really

Yeah I did my bit for society - note DID and WAS or WERE. People can do what they like as long as it doesn't impact me - I'll offer advice if asked but it's a long time ago and things have changed - 1986 hmmm was a long time ago

Could start a new trend, bet noone else could get the dents in the right places, at least it sounds like your get you money back and car on the road! Some of us wernt as lucky. Hope you get it all sorted out smoothly though!

In for repair today - well estimates - I think it will be an economical repair

Good Luck with the repairs Ian. I was wondering if you had any (mk1?) senators in your collection...And now I know. (unless you've since sold it)

I have what is left of it - a mildly tuned engine and some misc spares - it was stored at my lock up for a year after i failed an MOT for chassis corrosion and while I was away on holiday for 2 weeks got used as a kids den - having grown tired of the warm dry place to read magazines and stuff they then decided to break a few windows, headlights in fact they trashed to an extent that even if I did the chassis repairs there was no other versions aabout fitted with a poverty spec interior - I scrapped it.

It's in the repairshop - my guy thinks he can turn it round in a reasonable time so maybe I'll still be an GTi International after all

mate that wasnt quite the re style i thought u had done when ya told me. oops thats not so good least ya can fix it.

well i know exactly what mine would like if i do a similar thing.

hope ya dont have any more probs after this.
