No bother mate.

I agree. Hold off and make sure you get the one you want, no harm in going for a look, it gives you and idea of what they can be like and what to look for.

I went and saw 3 before i got one i wanted, first one was a bit scabby but was in a VW dealer who said he would do all work to get it back to A1 but it was the fact it was in that condition in the 1st place that put me off.

Yet it was 1 owner, female and she was a Doctor.

Private or trade? Where's the best place to look?

I got my one private, trade dont tend to keep em, because if you buy one from a dealership they have to put new wheels on and it costs like 1500 for them... if they get one partex they tend to give it to a local garage as overstock. Or so im told from my dads friend @ Stockton VW. Hes general manager so he gave me alot of info!

I don't know if they'd put new wheels on. I was told by 3 dealers, all different , that they wouldn't put new wheels on as this is only covered under manufacturers warranty.

The VW approved warranty doesn't cover this.

So i was told, though the VW dealer i got mine from agreed to refurb mine. Though did a crap job.

Was also told by all of them that they rarely see them and when the do get them, they don't stay long at all, cos someone is always looking for one.

Yeah, they are pretty funny about giving new wheels but its actually a recognised fault now apparently and by the customer rights stuff etc etc they have to and so dont keep them...

That's it i'm goin back tomorrow before my warranty runs out in August, hehe. :)

Seriously though, would i have much of a case considering the dealer refurbed them and it's been almost a year since i got the car?

Yes, simple matter is, if your cars paint was under warranty and it corroded they would repair it right? Say it recorroded in a years time you would more then expect them to redo it?

Just because its wheels dont make a difference! Im 90% sure if you argue enough and do it in the right mannor at the least you will get a refurb!

Good plan... im thinking of refurbing mine so i can put them back on for resale if noone wants to buy them. Otherwise i could just take the offer of £200 for them the way they are!

Mines are gonna be summer wheels only. I'm getting my winter wheels when i come back from hols in september. Then the BBS's are getting tyres removed, split down and sent away.

Sounds okay, but its a bit expensive and for that kinda money id expect leather etc...

"Vw demonstrator" i doubt it without leather... another way of saying its been a company car and all the staff had a good go of it...

5dr too...
