that chrome just seems wrong, it looks like it was drinking milk and hiccupped
still a smart design tho
...and a well tuned G will still whip it

yeah itll just be a 3.6L VR6 probably. I dont think itll be a V8 or anything like that.

Yep, the R36 badge that has been mentioned refers to the current 3.2-ltr engine being bored out to 3.6-ltr
Still, I prefer the mk4 R32 too, looks better IMO. On this new one though, I like the rear bumper/diffuser/exhaust design but prefer the GTi's styling everywhere else... but bi-xenon headlamps are cool as are the Recaro seats and the other bits and bobs that come standard on the new R32. I want to see one in the metal come November really, for example the BMW Z4 looks a bit odd in many of the press photographs that were available at launch IMHO, but in real life it's a beautiful looking machine
Shame that the power output hasn't topped 300bhp with the new R32. Yes, it's quoted as being up nearly 10bhp on the 1st generation R, but after VW performed the 6463 update most R32s are running at about 250bhp anyway aren't they?
I wonder if VW will let me drive this one at Oulton Park too...

I'd imagine the mk5 would also be a lot lighter (up to 100kg's??) this would make a big difference.
They also say mk5 gti's have a 0-60 of 7.2 but it's more like 6.6
Most run 205bhp standard not 197. And 20-30 nm higher than quoted figures. Also the GTI is 1295kg not 1350kg
(I'll try to find the proof)
So I'd imagine the r32 would be a little better than they are letting on.

i'd hit it even if it turned out to have been born a citroen
