My back windscreen gets covered in crap very easily, especially on the motorway in the wet. Couldnt live without the rear wiper and washer in winter.
Mine does as well, the back is always dirtier than the front.

Well yeah, the back of my car is dirty as I type, after a couple of weeks of driving about it's got a nice film of filth on it! But I can still see out of the rear window, more than enough to see other vehicles and see out when reversing... I might have it as a show season mod, then bang it back on for winter*
Hmm. I just want rid if the rear wiper, for smoothness' sake
*this will have the added advantage of reducing wear and tear on the rear wiper, thus making the blade last longer lol

Lads, i managed to break my drivers side wiper and got a new one from VAG parts, this time its smaller then the passenger one and they work perfectly. I think the problem is that the kit from VAG comes with 2 left side blades that are bigger then they should be. The kit you actually need is 2 lupo wipers, but 2 different sides, not just 2 left hand blades like in the kit.

is anything else different? I didn't think the blade length was the problem?

Yeh its a totally different wiper, i think the ones origionally supplied off VAG parts are for a 9n polo, and the ones you need are off a lupo gti..

I bought 2 Lupo GTi wiper blades AND arms (drivers and passenger sides) and the passenger side arm and blade fit fine.
However, the drivers side Lupo arm doesn't fit and fouls the lip of the bonnet when it moves.
SO
I took it all round to my mates garage and we butchered both the Lupo Arm and my Polo Arm to make an arm that fit properly AND had the attachment for the Aero blade.
It took blood, sweat, lots of swearing and a decent welder to get it right, as the spring tension is absolutely crazy and without it being under tension, the wiper just doesn't wipe!
Eventually we got it perfect, and it got a good sanding down and a spray with satin black paint.
I was the 2nd person in the world (no sh1t!) to fit Aero wipers to the front of a 6n/6n2 Polo and the first to put the 9n rear wiper on one too! I know, I know... I'm a geek!
Anyway, you can now buy Aero blades off of an old Renault Scenic that fit onto the oldskool arms! BONZA!

Josh, you would become a hero if you could provide some more information on these wiper blades - if I go to my local Renault garage and ask them for some aero blades from a Scenic they'd look at me sideways
Are we talking about one of these (see below)...?
Or the latest one, one of these:

Do the oldskool arms need to be modified in any way or is it a direct fit? I might get down there on Monday and buy some

Apparently they are direct fit onto oldskool hoop arms.
www.seatcupra.net
www.briskoda.net
(search for "Aero" on either of those sites).
I ordered mine a couple of days ago... Just waiting for them to call to say they've arrived.
