Did u declare this, thats one mod on my list I have to have, u lucky so and so.....................
Yeh declared it. But to be honest I might be taking the short shifter out. Depends. I have heard it is bad for your gearbox in the long run. I'll see. Might be getting an LSD but need to get some suspension first. :D

Ok. I don't know the full explaination but it basically gives an even distribution of power to the wheels. Therefore this will give less wheel-spin when you push the car from a standing start.
Can anyone clarify this?

My cousin fitted one to one of his customer's mk2 Golf. This is going back a couple of years. But the customer was more then happy. He uses his car as a track day car. If you went to GTI International this year you may have seen his green mk2 Golf on the strip. When speaking to the customer, he said that buying the LSD was one of the best things he had done to the car. Thats how much of a difference it made to his car.

My cousin is a expert in explaining things like this (LSD). He was the one who recommended I get one. He is the main reason to why I am in the VW scene.

However suspension is my next modification because I get too much wheel-spin as a result of the front end of the car lifting up. So I think lowering it will make a difference.

unless you're going for huge power then i wouldnt bother with a LSD. They make it a b1tch for daily driving. I've driven a G40 with one on and you're constantly wrestling the wheel when accelerating as it transfers the power between one wheel and the other.

There great when you want to have a bit of a play though, and you can literally nail it around bends.

Its not actually insured in my name. I was getting quotes of £5k and then tried EGG the card company. They quoted me £2.2k. So I decided to get insured under my mum's name as the second driver. That worked out to about £800. Then my dad said he wanted to get insured on the car and because he has 3-points on his license it went up to £1k. The reason I went under my mum's name is because I would have had to pay over £1k anyway after I turn 21 and I know I would have lost alot more money insuring it under my own name.
Be VERY careful with this. If you use the car most but insure yourself as a named driver on somoene elses policy you are doing what insurers call "fronting" and its also illegal. It's cheating the system, now I can't say I blame you. Just be careful incase you do have to claim because insurers know this happens and they try to catch you out etc, if they do you policy will get cancelled and it will mess up future quotes.
