PC cold cathodes come with a little black box with the electrics in, so all you need to do, is cut off the PC molex and connect the remaining two wires from this box (red and black) to a 12v and -ve supply in the car, very simple

exactly, just cut the car's connector and connect the - to the black cable of the inverter's connector and the + to the red. From the other side of the inverter you have the 2 plugs for the 2 cool cathodes. It is very simple

yep, just make sure the 12v your using to supply power to it, is fused :)

The problem is I don't have a boot light/connector. Hopefully I can find the right connector with the guide pictures ( http://www.tigerstyle.co.uk/poloforum/v ... .php?t=976 ).

Do you have an amp in the boot? you can run it off the same feed as that

yes but the cool cathode won't light its time the boot is opened but it will be always on

Good point, still could put a switch on it - to put on/off manually though

or if you still can't find the loom for boot light or it is not present, you could install your own micro switch to control light on when boot is opened or wire directly into the micro switch in the boot lock
